If MG can't get a hockey trade for Luongo, I will officially get off the MG bandwagon. As of right now, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm hoping he makes something happen at the draft. He might have to do one of the following: eat some salary, take a contract back (ie: dipietro/ bryz/ vinnie), reduce his ask, etc...

If he can't do anything with Luongo, he's gonna have to trade Schneider forthwith and get two 1st rd picks/ prospects, a backup, and 1/2 roster players dman/ center. Basically, a treasure trove for Schneider.

Heard today that Gillis has a few solid offers on the table for Luongo but he's waiting until the Finals are over to officially announce a trade cause he doesn't want to cause a distraction. Classy move here by Gillis and the Canucks. I still think Florida is the destination for Luongo but it sounds like Tampa and the Isles have put together some nice packages for his services too. Time will tell I guess.

Why doesn't anybody talk about Ray Emery? He would probably come in on a 3-4 year deal at 3-4 mil a season. Mason and Emery should be good enough until Stolarz is ready. Seems better than Luongo, Backstrom, or Bryzgalov...most definately Bryzgalov and his cap hit I mean...

I wouldn't be so quick to laugh. If the Hawks lose to Boston I could see them looking for an upgrade in net. There's been chatter of Luongo to Chicago for the past year. I think it's going to be a very interesting draft weekend.

Your thoughts on some of the moves people are saying MacT will be making?

I think this years free agent market is underrated. People are saying it's the worst FA crop in a long time but in my opinion there's some solid players out there. Here's a look at some of the line combos you could put together with free agents:

Clowe Ribeiro Iginla
Bickell Roy Ryder
Morrow Bozak Horton

If I were a GM I would sign one of those lines any day. Ribeiro has some attitude problems and Iginla doesn't really offer much anymore but he has a good reputation and would bring good leadership. Horton is a big guy who can still contribute some goals.

So you don't think Hall and Yakupov will be traded?

Oilers fans think they can just stick with the same roster and some how become a contender. Pretty funny for the rest of us to see.
It's clear to everyone that something in Edmonton needs to change. You guys have some good offensive pieces upfront but that's about all you have. The Oilers could move one or two of those forwards for a true top pairing d-man or some depth but Oilers fans are too greedy to see this. Looks like another year of cellar dwelling for the Oilers unless they make some moves.

Luongo comes to Florida only if Vancouver takes Kuba or Jovo back to equal their ridiculous salaries. Salary dump for salary dump. If not then oh well.

Getting sick of hearing this. Have already shown people earlier in the day what Luongo is really worth. People are just blinded by their Vancouver hate to realize the truth.

Emery is a bit of a wild card he has been great for Chi town but can he play more then 20-30 games a season with that surgery.

Was told some of it off the record so I can't say. All I can say is that a lot of people are going to be surprised come draft day.

The Florida fan(s) will be shocked when they give up Huberdeau+ for Luongo. Can't wait for the reaction of all the haters!

If they tank another year, they'll still finish ahead of the train wreck Canucks. The Vancouver Canucks will miss the playoffs in 2014. It's not even that bold a prediction actually.
