That's why he didn't do as good as he normally does. Have you ever been sad and tried to carry on with your life? It's very challenging. That's what Luongo was going through last year. He knew he was going to have to leave his friends and team mates so he was pretty sad. - hankthetank
This post has now made me sad. Thanks |

Islanders need to get to the cap floor.
I could see something like Hamonic, Dehaan and the Islanders first for Luongo. - hankthetank
Sounds about right, I'll let Snow know and get back to you. |

The only thing Dreger has said on Luongo in the past week is that the Canucks are still confident they will be able to trade Luongo if Vancouver includes a significant asset or eats some of Lu's contract - cap1681
Fixed
Gillis must truly be a delusional egomaniac if he thinks that anyone believes any of the smoke and mirrors BS he's been spewing for over a year from his whore-hole. |

You're an islanders fan. If you don't think Luongo would make your team better, you're just delusional - lkeh73
According to you guys he would make every team better yet you don't want to keep him? Strange? |

Like I said, Islanders need to reach the cap floor. They should be thankful they at least get the best goalie in the league by doing so rather than over paying some UFA to a ridiculous contract. - hankthetank
Because Lu is the Isles' ONLY option to help them reach the cap floor.
Even if NYI had to over pay for a UFA, it certainly wouldn't be for another 7-10 years. |

Realistically, i don't know how anybody thinks its crazy to think he goes nowhere.
The signing of Joacim Eriksson might mean more than people realize.. he's probably at least ready to be a backup. - lkeh73
Why? Your GM publicly announced that Luongo wasn't your starter and would be traded depreciating any value he had then named Schneider your starter. That was last year |

Don't believe me? Just google what the experts think and you'll find most of them agree with me. I've been around the game for a very long time. I know top end talent when I see it. - hankthetank
Just confirming for the last time. You would rather have a 34 year old Luongo than a 31 year old Lundqvist. Interesting... |

First story that came up. Luongo isn't in the top 8:

To Florida: Luongo, Ballard and the rights to Raymond
To Vancouver: Bjugstad, Gudbranson and Florida's 1st.
I've suggested this before and most people agree that it's a good deal for both clubs. Panthers get the best goalie in the NHL, a solid top 4 d-man in Ballard and a proven top 6 forward in Raymond. The Canucks take on a couple of younger projects in Bjugstad and Gudbranson. They can take a chance with another prospect with Florida's pick. Canucks get younger and the Panthers get some nice pieces to put them over the top in the Eastern Conference. This is the kind of deal I could see happening. - hankthetank
You guys couldn't give Ballard away 2 years ago, you obviously can't find a taker for Lu, yet add the rights to Raymond and suddenly the deal is a winner for the Cats? Seriously, Ballard and Lu aren't worth the paper for the contracts they signed in trade value, Raymond while a decent player isn't worth one of the prospects you mentioned much less both and this year's 1st.
Everyone needs to understand that Lu has little to no value. It has nothing to do with his play, he's a legit #1. Contract, contract, contract...Say the word enough and maybe everyone will begin to understand
If you want to get value back when you deal Lu it will only come if you deal value with him. Players like Edler and Bieksa then maybe you can find a taker, but everyone needs to understand. The Nucks and Gillis have backed themselves into a corner with Lu, and while NHL GM's can be quite stupid I don't see any of them helping them out of this jam without Vancouver making it worth their while. |

Florida's 1st? No way that happens.
Luongo is unmovable, because our team has it's backs against the wall. Plain and simple. This whole this is a disgrace to the quality of goalie that Lu is. Buyouts should only happen if that player becomes useless to a team. The only negative against him is his contract. I just don't see him being the one that's moved. - lkeh73
If only more of your brethren agreed life at HB would be so much more easier. |

Didn't you learn your lesson the other day on their thread? He's facking around at least the other trade proposals on there from other Canucks fans were serious |

Fun to speculate, but the reality is;
THERE IS NO TRADE MARKET FOR BRYZ or LOU.
They are buy outs or hold on to them.
The cap is 64 M next year.
No gm is going put his head on the block getting either one of those contracts. - JACMAN

I'm pretty sure wherever he goes he's going to be great. The guy is an awesome goaltender. His contract is the problem. As far as the trade I just don't see it happening? I feel he's going to be bought out. Nobody is going to give up much for him. If Gillis gets anything more than a third rounder for him he should be back up for GM of the year. |
