To Florida: Luongo, Ballard and the rights to Raymond
To Vancouver: Bjugstad, Gudbranson and Florida's 1st.
I've suggested this before and most people agree that it's a good deal for both clubs. Panthers get the best goalie in the NHL, a solid top 4 d-man in Ballard and a proven top 6 forward in Raymond. The Canucks take on a couple of younger projects in Bjugstad and Gudbranson. They can take a chance with another prospect with Florida's pick. Canucks get younger and the Panthers get some nice pieces to put them over the top in the Eastern Conference. This is the kind of deal I could see happening. - hankthetank
You couldn't be more wrong. |

Just saying, Nabby is a UFA and DP was in Bridgeport for half the year. And the best goalie in the league is Lundqvist and that's coming from an Isles fan. - NYI44
Statistically over the last decade it's been Lundquist, Broduer, and Luongo.
Only of them is available.

No way that happens.
Luongo is unmovable, because our team has it's backs against the wall. Plain and simple. This whole this is a disgrace to the quality of goalie that Lu is. Buyouts should only happen if that player becomes useless to a team. The only negative against him is his contract. I just don't see him being the one that's moved.

Actually it is. Like I said, they get a top 4 d-man, a top 6 forward and the best goalie in the league. How is that a bad deal for any team? - hankthetank
Raymond is not a top 6 forware, plus he's a UFA. Therefore him being in that deal has no value. Ballard is in a position with Vancouver where they took a bad contract. No value there. |

Looks like Bryz is gonna be traded...Bryz, B.Schenn, Coburn and a pick for Luongo and Elder... |

Right now, Luongo is not the best goalie in the league. He's not even a starter!

as to your point of "look at luongos numbers"...these are his numbers:
2013:
In 20 games he was 9-6-3 (18 starts)
Tied for 26th for save percentage among goalies with 20 or more games played and 21st GAA
but maybe we have different definitions of "best goalie in the NHL" - LetsGoIsles
This last year was a different year for everyone. Luongo was sad that's why he didn't play the way he can. When he wants to he can be the best goalie in the NHL like he has been for the majority of his career. But AV and the situation in Vancouver didn't help bring out the best in him. |

I'd do this fo sure. Honestly, I just want all this to be done and over with because I'm so sick of reading what everyone thinks they deserve and what they'll get or if they'll get anything at all. I think if it's Florida all they'll get is something like Upshall for Luongo with maybe a decent prospect...maybe. This has been going on for way too long. |

Just to debunk your arguement:
Since the start of the 2002-2003 season:
Luongo - 2.47 GAA, .926 S%
Tomas Vokoun - 2.50 GAA, .926 S%
Edit: We don't even need to get into who played on a better team. |

Let me guess, you think the goaltending tandem of Dipietro and Nabokov is the best in the NHL?
Look at Luongo's numbers. He has been the best goalie in the league for about a decade now. When he wants to he can take over a game. - hankthetank

statistically.. watch the games. The game against detroit hurt his stats, plus it doesn't help that he didn't know what was going on one day to the next. |
