Stone are great, but IMO not legendary in the likes of Zepplin, the Who, Pink Floyd. I would consider these 3 the trinity of Rock.

What do you think our low brand of English would sound like to a proper Victorian gentleman?

American vernacular is going to continue to evolve whether we like it or not -- embrace it and the transition will be all the less painful.

I'll give you Zeppelin and the Who. And I very much like Pink Floyd. But they aren't even close to the royalty of Rock that the Stones are. The Stones are the greatest band that ever lived. Stones are still touring in their 60's. And have been selling out shows for 50 years. How are they not legendary?

The Stones are the Vancouver Canucks of the Rock world. Sure they are a Canadian team, but they aren't in the league of Montreal or Toronto. Same with stones... They are great in terms of overall bands, just not in league with the others...

There is a difference between a lead guitarist and rythem guitarist, and Hetfield is one of the best at rythem guitarists.

I would also be open to Les Claypool, Cliff Burton, or John Paul Jones....

ah. as funny as that is it also hurts to see! its hard to understand that they are people too sometimes i guess, although they have done much to remind everyone of that fact to great, questionable lengths.

thank god maiden has done largely the opposite
