Totally disagree about Edm..

Besides a line of elite teenagers (Hall/RNH/Yakapov), the rest of their team is mostly garbage and scap parts. Dont forget that they finished worse than Buffalo this yr.

Col however is an exciting place right now. O'Riley, Duschane, Stastney, Parenteau, and Eric johnson give them a solid young core to compliment the #1 pick.

I would take either roster over the sabres 18 skaters for opening day next season

How does edm take a coach they fired and bring him back as gm years later...?

That is just ludicrous

Trust me...
U don't know Miller's thought process any better than the rest of us
FLA won their division just a year ago, it's a great place to live, they have a nice mix of vets w some very good young talent (and are about to add anothe piece)...
And it can't hurt that Soupy is there either, he & Miller used to come into Coles all the time when I managed it

And btw, FLA was pretty far down on my list
I think it'll be NYI or Philly, with us getting their 1st +
Or Minn, who had a good amount of prospects we'd be interested in
Those other teams will certainly make a phone call or two though... They'd be dumb not to

- jdfitz77

Fla is losing Steve Weiss to UFA and is far from a Stanley Cup contender. Not gonna happen.

people love to blame the D on Miller

and make all sorts of other excuses

dubynk has had better numbers the last 2 years on a team that flat out sucked

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=2045

also dubynk's numbers are getting better each year

miller is getting slower and slower to get back into position when he flops on the ice

sorry vince, the eye test says other wise

Hank quick rinne
- dmarsden2988

You're throwing out two goalies who have the Top 5 defenses in front of them (hank, quick) and we saw how rinne did when his D was lacking; underachieved. Put miller on either of those teams and we'd see how he'd do. I dont have a boner for miller, I dont even like him that much, but your arguements have holes. and plenty of them.

quick was also busted up early on

he was unreal in the playoffs last season and the second half of this season

at first glance I was only going to list rask and hank

- navinrjohnson

Quick handed St.Louis 2 games to start the playoffs and when LA was outplayed by CHI and outshot he got beat. His only really good series was against San Jose.

Miller will never be the same goalie after lucic, tootoo, and the ott guy thst put miller into the net while clearing the puck in the trapezoid.

Stats are just numbers... they don't show the whole picture... no def would play the same in front of dub and miller... one is baby gloved and the other is left out to dry while dmen expect outlet passes

Miller in the olympics is what he could do with that caliber defense...

How'd he do in that tournament?

Game 1 he fell behind his net on a PP and lost in OT, game 2 he let a wrist shot from the point in with 30 seconds left on the 3rd. They should have swept St. Louis
. CHI beat Quick every time they controlled the play, Quick doesn't steal games

miller can still get on a 5 or 6 game run

problem IMO has always been focus with him

aside from the olympic year, he never has had it for long stretches

something the great goalies seem to always have

he can peak with the best of them, but it's too infrequent and the valley is too low, too often

the media, both local and national made him out to be much more then he really is
he is like cujo, the numbers look great over time, but the numbers never are great for most seasons, if that makes any sense

You have to watch the games instead of just looking at the numbers my man. I don't find it impressive when Quick has an 18 save shutout

While I think there is some validity to this, I do think it's not as simple as throwing Miller on an elite defensive team and he will match Hank etc. It's a lot different playing on a team where you go 10 minutes without facing a shot, then suddenly have to make a couple tough ones, then go another 8 minutes before seeing the puck again. Blues goalies talked about it all year, not complaining, just that it's a big adjustment. If Miller was traded to the Blues (for instance) there is a reasonable chance he could put up other-worldly numbers. But there is also a decent chance that he would really struggle with going from 30 shots a night to 15.

I agree that consistency has been an issue for him.. miller and afinogenov are the reason why I am a sabres fan... I'm not saying he is perfect or elite... but to say that dubnyk is better... that just ain't right..

The sun has set on miller in buffalo... I'd like to keep him to see if a full off season of recovery and what he does in another olympic year but who knows...

J am to the point whed s I would shaje his hand and wish him the best to get a ring like hasek. Everyone will know he is a sabre and retire in this family.

Yes, he does. You're completely ignoring the saves he shouldn't have made in game 1. Blues should have won by 2 or 3 against an average goalie. Not to mention game 3. Or game 5. Or game 6.

Quick struggled against Blackhawks. But saying he doesn't steal games is just ignorant.
