I am not sure how you gauge a GM....Not sure how many GMs trade away first round draft picks within the first 4 years they play. Not to mention I see a lot of sabres fans crying that Regier holds onto his players....

This isn't NHL13 if you want to understand the NHL better compare to all 30 teams not just the Detroit Red Wings

You guys just finished a rebuild, ares is starting. We can make it a 2-3 year rebuild if we get lots of prospects and first rounders this year. Miller and vaneks value are at the highest now. We will pick top 5 next year. 2015, we need Mcdavid (your JT) then the rebuild is done.

No I meant if we had bottomed out those two years... I'm talking drafting top 5, top 3 or even 1st

Sounds like a Darcy move. Still not good enough for the playoffs IMO. It would be more of the same 10-12 place finish.

"Bad" enough to continue in the 9th-10th place holding pattern they've been riding the past few years. I want to see young guys play, but I do want some veteran leadership from the outside. I'm not sure Malone or Briere are the types these kids need at this point. If I had to choose, I would say Briere would be better suited for the role.

I would argue Myers simply had to be in shape. If Miller was more consistent, they may have even won a playoff series this season. Drew Stafford is a non-entity whether he gives a damn or not. He's simply not that good.

they are the execption to the rule, they also drafted great in every other round as well.

I think we can all agree that goaltending is the make or break for a team and Edmonton hasnt had a goalie in quite some time.

I don't think RNH, Yakupov and Hall bad.

Because we had owners before Pegula who felt making the playoffs was enough. Not to be contenders, just make the playoffs to try and break even. 05-06 and 06-07 were luxury seasons for them. Pegula wouldve opened his checkbook and kept every one of them.

This is the first summer that myers will not be asked to add to his frame... he has gained 25+ lbs since he was drafted.

Put him with a stay home guy and allow myers to go down to the faceoff circles lioe his rookie year instead of shackling him to the blue line... that is what made tyler myers tyler myers... being a bruiser/fighter did not make him the 12th overall pick.

Colorado has drafted in the top 10 twice in the last 10 years. Those picks were Duchene and Landeskog.

Columbus had arguably the worst GM in hockey.
