I wouldn't take any combination of TO players for RNH. Sorry not even a little sorry.

Keep him. Kadri is better anyways.

I said he was 16th in C scoring this year meaning he can be a fringe 1C or great 2C.

Stellar AHL season. Go tell that to Justin Schultz who lead all D men in points in the AHL after 30 games

- TheNugeIsHuge

Come on man. He's talking about last year in the NHL where he had a real solid rookie season, both offensively (without top pp minutes) and defensively considering hes a first year pro.

[quote=Oilers4Life14]Gagner fought Dillon, Beauchemin, Johnson, Halischuck, Kesler, Conroy, and Jokien... All pretty much taller than him.

And he's probably taller than you, and probably still can kick your ass...

Oilers fans feel the same way about RNH that Leaf fans feel about Gardiner. No way I'd trade Gagner for Gardiner, he doesn't solve our 1st line center need and if you watched the playoffs, Gardiner was one of our best defensemen (if not the best). A 2nd line/3rd line center in Gagner for a up an coming stud defenseman isn't going to make me hard.

The only way the Oilers get better is to give up something good. Dubynk isn't going to get you into the playoffs. The Leafs have depth at defense, so I don't mind giving up a stud for a stud.

If I were a Oiler fan, I wouldn't want to give up RNH either, but tell your GM to stop drafting forwards.

The Gardner trade proposal is laughable. Gardner is not being traded, and neither is Phaneuf.

If the Leafs want Gagner then its something like Franson, Grabovski, Riemer
for Gagner and Edmontons first.

I get the impression you either really like the leafs, really don't like the oilers, or really like riling people up, or all three.

It took me a while to realize you're talking about Franson, Grabs and Reimer as a package.

I'm not sure if the Oilers are interested in taking on that salary in those positions. Grabovski isn't a terrible player to have, but he'd be better as a depth addition. We don't have depth at centre.

How about Taylor Hall for Phaneuf? We get our first line center and you get your defensive leader.
- PrinceLH

So would you guys be terribly dissapointed if we wound up with something like:

Dion
21st
____

Gagner
Klefbom
7th

Just looking to see what people think

I think ganger for phenuf is the trade the oilers are looking at, but only if phenuf signs an extenion. That traded i'd take any day. I still don't see the oilers drafting lindholm he doesn't really fit our need aside from replacing ganger if we trade him and i think that role needs to go to a bigger center. I think nurse or rasmus is more likely. If barkov or monahan isn't there at no 7 and it doesn't seem likely they will be.

As I mentioned, there are some stupid trades being proposed over there.... I like Dion, but if MacT even considered that for one second he'd be run outta town quicker than Paul McCallum

Sam Gagner (Age 23)

2007-2008 OILERS 79 13 36 49
2008-2009 OILERS 76 16 25 41
2009-2010 OILERS 68 15 26 41
2010-2011 OILERS 68 15 27 42
2011-2012 OILERS 75 18 29 47
2012-2013 OILERS 48 14 24 38

Yup Gagner is to old and He won't get better so lest trade Him for a Defeseman that have done this much and got SUPER POTENTIAL.

Jake Gardiner (Age 23)

2010-11 Toronto Marlies AHL 10 0 3 3 4
2011-12 Toronto M Leafs NHL 75 7 23 30
2011-12 Toronto Marlies AHL 4 0 2 2 2
2012-13 Toronto Marlies AHL 43 10 21 31 12
2012-13 Toronto M Leafs NHL 12 0 4 4

- AlEx_OiL

Well at least you admit he did indeed play a season in the NHL unlike some posters. But Gardiner is 22, turning 23 this summer. Gagner is 23, turning 24 this summer.
I do agree that gagner hasnt plateaued and has potential still.
Would argue that Gardiner is furthur away from his, as most 22 year old dman.

I wouldn't mind Gagner to be honest, however I don't want Gardiner traded in any deal, let alone for a guy like Sam Gagner (is he really a #1 Centre?, probably not). I could see a Reimer deal potentially, and the Oilers could be looking to upgrade in that area, so who knows what may happen in the future. I do believe Reimer will get the chance to prove himself against Bernier, if he loses that battle then he may be moved.
