When Gagner puts up consistent seasons, then we can all properly evaluate him.

He had 1 good season since he's been in the league so we all need to stop talking as if the guy is amongst the top players in the league.

Can he put up the same numbers next season, possibly but i'm not totally convinced. And so many players, once they get a brand new contract worth millions, they disappear so that's another reason i'm not completely sold on Gagner.

Leafs traded for Bernier because the Oilers wanted Bernier but Kings wouldn't trade Oilers Bernier.
I suggest Gardiner+Bernier+3rd round pick for Gagner+Paajarvi+5th round pick

I like Dubnyk as Oilers starting Goalie..but Bernier would be a solid backup for now, in a year or two they could split 40 games a piece and after that decide whose the long term number one in Edmonton.

Gagner was on pace for 65. No matter. Reimer was a top 10 goalie this year. Gardiner is a blue chip prospect (albeit not worth 7th overall or more )

Cloutier just made this blog to piss off leafs fans and get tons of hits

Gagner had 38 this year. Only two players to get more points then him on the leafs were kadri and kessel.

Getting some more 1st overall picks may be a good idea, because then you guys might make the playoffs lol

Is not just the stats,but age and the amount of seasoning that both players have this far,and right now Gagner have show to the Oilers at a young age that he can produce and will produce even better now that's got better wingers,Gardiner had only one full season at age of 23 and not one knows if he is going to get better or not,that's why I see Gagner having a higher value then Gardiner right now.

No one said he was a top player in the league. Only oiler that's a top player right now is Hall.

Gagner plays as Yak's C for one year and finishes 16th in C scoring. You guys must not realize what good teammates'll do. kessel's a stud, get him a good C n he'll put up 90P

Gagner's a good player, but I would rather try and get a bigger center, even if they put up less points. Also, you're crazy if you think riemer and gardiner for gagner and nick schultz is even close to fair.
I wouldnt do gardiner for gagner straight up.
Also, dont want to trade phaneuf. He plays a lot bigger role for the leafs most people realize and even though he makes a lot of bone headed plays, I really think he would be a solid minute eater if they played him for like 23 min instead of 27 per game.
