Not that there is anything wrong with that, just make sure to wrap it up or wash the poop off of yer Richard afterwards.

Wayne Simmonds, Ryan Callahan, Dustin Brown, David Clarkson.

These are the type of players the Oil need however it's not happening with the first 3 unless you part with your stud players including Klefbom. And it sounds like Clarkson wants Toronto!!

My response was to another Oil fan,He said there's no need for Big top winger and that the Oil only need a cheaper winger to play top 6,those players you just mention are not cheap.
Btw from the 4 players you just mention Wayne Simmonds is the one that I will be interested.

Then why not offer the 7th pick to the Flyers for Simmonds & see what Holmgren says??

Or maybe MacT has done this, who knows but give it a shot. I'd move that pick for Simmonds in a heart-beat - the guy can do it all & is way better than that 7th pick will ever bring you now.

It's now for the Oilers, not 3 or 5yrs from today.

Those would be great players to get, and I agree with you about the price.

My thought is that the Oilers would still be a very good team if they got a guy like that, but with less offense (and for a lesser price). A banger who's brings defense and maybe 30ish points could help us a lot, especially if we didn't have to give up any of our young talent.

Risk of infection, bacterial growth, hygiene and it will probably taste better the next time his BF puts it in his mouth. Just a common courtesy for (frank) sake.

I was thinking someone like Nick Foligno, Kulemin, Colin Greening. We have plenty of high end skill. We need team defense ,size and grit, now.

I don't know how a team like the Oilers, who haven't made the playoffs in 7 years are in absolute now mode. Conservatively, it's about 2-3 years before we'll start heavily competing for a cup, which means adding a top prospect is still a useful thing to do.

true but if you were the GM and you have a chance to deal the 7th pic for Simmonds you would not do it?

Yeah, but we will need some ELC's in key positions in 2 or 3 years as well. I dont want to see a draftee go right in the line up either, but I think we'll get an important player with #7 this year. I think we explore cheaper (in both trade and salary) options while this next batch of kids develop (I dont even want to see Klefbom in the NHL next year).
Did your Habs decide to buyout Kaberle?

You want another superstar for the top 6 eh? Okay, if you think allocating a bunch of (more)money there is a good idea, where are we gonna shave salary from in 2 years when it might be an issue?

quite probably. But from a cap perspective, I think the team can get better without having to pay the big price.

But have been working casual as an HCA this summer and sat in on it a couple times, and let me tell you, when it comes to catheters, women have it a lot (frank)ing easier than us guys.

Totally disagree. It's players like Simmonds who are still in their prime that can lift a team big-time with their physical play at the same time score 20 to 25 goals per season.

You don't need to add another 18yr old if you can acquire a guy like Simmonds - come on!!

if u mean now as in we should be making moves this summer to try and get to the playoffs, then I fully agree.

but we're not gonna be making any moves that sacrifice the future to try and win a cup now. we're not there yet. maybe im not understanding what u mean by 'now'.

our core is 19, 20, 21, 22, and 22!!
our window is just opening now. if oilers management play their cards right, we could be in the cup picture for ten years. of course a lot of factors are involved and only time will tell.

I think uve cooled off the brainless troll hating you used to do for sure, but ur basic premise still remains. the only way we get better is by trading one of the 5 kids. this is absolutely not true. look at the teams that built through the draft. they built around their core. not through it

and yes, id trade the 7th for Simmonds.
