Soooo Reimer takes you to the playoffs and he is rewarded with being a backup. Typical retarded Leafs GM. Feel bad for the fans up in Toronto.. this was WAY too steep a price. At least Reimer has proven he can win.. Bernier has been a back up until this point.

So glad we acquired him for what we gave up!!! We're going to be set in net for years to come between Reimer and Bernier. Awesome move.

How can you explain rocks that were cut as straight as they were with nothing more than stone age equipment?

Not sure how I feel about this.

Frattin has shown flashes of brilliance.
Bernier, from what I've seen (which isn't much) is better than Scrivens.
2nd Round Pick is just the cost of doing business

We slot someone into 3rd line wing, roll into the season with Bernier+Reimer combo and we're out of the Luongo talks for good! Wait, maybe this is a good deal...

- abstrakt

doesn;t sound so bad now that it's done and haven;t created any holes in the lineup that can;t be filled within.

I think the Leafs did good on this trade. Reimer showed he's capable but capable doesn't win cups. Not a fan of Nonis but sure knows how to trade for goalies. (not good with other trades, much like Gillis is good at getting defencemen but nothing else. )

as a panther fan, you shouldn't 'feel bad for the fans up in Toronto'....

After a decade of mediocre goaltending, the Leafs have solidified the position for years to come.

I laugh at what the kings fans here thought they'd get for Bernier.

A plug, backup goalie and a 2nd...wow, great return for your apparent stud goalie in the making.

wait untill u have to play the plug.

Poor Reimer. He can't be happy about being a backup next season.

Not sure why people think this is an overpayment. Looks good to me.

Scrivens? Career backup.
2nd Rd in 2014 or 2015? Who cares? The draft is deep in 2013.
Frattin? His 10 pts in 10 games was a product of being an AHLer with game legs when the season started. His last 15 games? 0 goals and 3 assists. Pure gem.

Bernier has the potential to be a superstar #1, something the Leafs have been drooling at for years.

Obviously you didn't watch him play very much. He plays a great style of hockey and would go on these mini bursts of being dominant/point-a-game pace.

Not saying he's a stud by any means, but he's a good fit for any gritty team.

- abstrakt

I watch just as many Leaf games as you.

He showed flashes... Wouldn't call it brilliance though.

On Bernier...

The Wild are involved, but only as a backup plan if Backstrom can't get done...The Flyers are only mildly involved...more just being kept in the loop. The Devils see him as a possible heir to the throne...The Islanders want him perhaps the most but Niederreiter doesn't appear to be the right fit...at this point. That could of course change...

Hmmm.....

nobody can say that for sure. Bernier was a back up with an incredibly small work load playing for a defensively minded team.

Lots of good back ups out there. Doesn't mean they will be great starters.

Not a terrible overpayment, but still, WTF does Reimer need to do to get the no. 1 job?

Also, sad to see Frattin go, thought he had a lot to offer going forward``

We did that by drafting Jacob Markstrom a few years ago..
