True. But Bernier is not interested in a tandem.
- aminnes

We don't know that though. Reimer has never played over 40 games nor started over 35. Quick has been getting 60+ seasons for a few years. There's massive difference in the circumstances. Who knows, 45 Reimer 37 Bernier? That would be Bernier's career high and if he shows his stuff, or Reimer falters well...or vice-versa, at least one question is solved.

Building from the net out. I heard the speech 5 years ago yet it took Burke's successor to do something about it. This is a great deal.

We need a D-Man like Byfuglien. Takes some pressure off Phaneuf, and Big Buff would have moved that Frank Chara from in from of the net, what would it take to get him??

Ashton could probably step in and fill Frattin's void.

Dan Cleary or Dustin Penner UFA would be better than Frattin IMO

I read about 30 pages of comments and I'm shocked that there was so much negative feedback about this deal. In reality what did we give up? A career back up who will do some spot starting(Scrivens = Clemmenson) and a pretty good young player(who i have nothing bad to say about but you have to give to get) and a conditional pick for a potential starting goalie. It doesn't matter whos better between Reimer and Bernier. Hopefully they both become good enough to be starters and we'll move one for a much greater return then Frattin and Scrivens

Not sold on the Bernier trade just yet.
Mainly due to the fact that teams are wanting bigger stronger forwards to play in the "grill" against a bigger stronger defence. Therefore , having a goalie under 6'
cannot be good.

- papajk

Read that wrong - thought it said having a back-up under $6m cannot be good. My bad.

We'll fuken move all the cinnabon franchises in TO to Winnipeg if the Leafs could get Buff. Leaf Nation loves Buff. Rather have Buff than Dion.

Scrivens was gone either way...Nonis wasn't going into next season with a Reimer/Scrivens combo...

Frattin was a 3rd line winger who showed more flashes of doing nothing than of greatness...

Leafs gave up squat for a potential #1 goaltender, Nonis would have been a fool to pass up that trade...
