I think it's an OK deal for the Leafs, but wasn't necessary. And it's not a fair deal for Reimer either.

Reimer has posted .920+ save% 2 of his first 3 seasons. That's very good. He's being underrated here. He's had a better career than Bernier.

I bet he gets a 2 or 3 year "prove it" type of deal.

Well when i first got it, im like hey, lemme get the new guy on the team. Had a really good season and playoffs for the leafs. If he gets traded i will be and then ... honestly, i think Nonis will keep lupul, jvr, kessel, gardiner, franson. They played their best hockey in playoffs and that is what we need, the people who did nothing really like frattin or scrivens are gone. Guys like grabo will probably be gone as well, bozak will be gone, Nonis wants playoff guys, not guys just here to ride the wave. Everyone has to contribute big time

why because i know it's gunna take time and u can;t jump on ur players and their contracts.. calgary gave him that contract.. not toronto... toronto got a hell of a player.... the contract was the price to pay for a player like him... the leafs have had cap room every year he has been here.. so the money should be a problem.. i'm tired of people judging players on what they make and not how they play..... should worry about that.... thats nonis's job

Regardless of what we think of the trade, I hope it doesn't emerge that this deal was the result of a meddling president/owner. Whether you like Bernier or not, it's always been bad news for us when the suits start pretending to know anything about hockey.
