If there is one thing the leafs have a lot of in the system is third line talent. So when that's your position if strength and you have a chance to deal using it, it's kind of a must

Its assurance you mort, not the end of the world. If we got a veteran like luongo, reimer would never even get playing time. With both of them, they can easily share half seasons together.

well then my point is he is a top teir dman in the league.. he may not be a yea rin year out norris canidate.. but he is a ligit number one d in the league.. they don;t ask him to do too much.. they ask him to doo too much alone.... if he had another big horse along side him he wouldn't be exposed.. chara has sidenburg.. keith has seabrook.. and don't discount voynov helping doughty.

I was speaking to a bloke I know yesterday. He works for the Islanders but has his summers back here. Used to work for the Avalanche before that. He said that talks have been held for a while regarding Stastny. The Avalanche want MacKinnon and will look to move Stastny. He said, he knows that Joe Sakic loves Liles. Possibly could be done straight up. Bit skeptical about straight up, but it sounds like it's something the Leafs are pursuing. Just what I heard, I don't know if he hears all the good stuff.

to say that you need a #1 Dman on that level isn't entirely accurate. yes those cup contending teams teams have a guy that elite, but they don't win the cup just because of them. it's because of the overall the depth on their entire squads. those teams have a guy like keith, or chara, or doughty...but then they also have a guy like seabrook, seidenberg, etc.

I know this might seem out there, but I won't be surprised if it was a bigger deal. Swapping 1sts and what not, MacT wants to make sure everyone knows this is his team now. Should be a fun week.
