At any rate, I think it's a good deal. He's young, reasonably cheap, and the sky is the limit Bernier. I'm sad to see him go, to be honest.

There's no telling what Scrivens will bring us, or Frattin for that matter. A 2nd round pick is even more risky.

I think Reimer might be moved in the #1 center and defensive upgrade...They can score a nice vet to back up Bernier...

But let's wait to see what nonis does moving forward. He likely has a couple more cards up his sleeve.

I'll reserve my final judgement til the end of the offseason. It might make more sense when we see what he does moving forward

I'm lucky here in Edmonton that the river valley is deep and there's not as much water, but Calgary and the southern half of the province has really just been beaten... it's pretty crazy to see.

The Leafs won't trade Phaneuf, thats ridiculous.


The Bernier trade is a steal, its not anywhere close to an overpayment, unless you say LA overpaid to get Frattin - which they did, by a mile.


Sucks for Riemer he didnt deserve to lose his job, but its not evey day you can potentially add a franchise player to your roster, so you gotta go for it. Goalies who can make the nhl all have potential to go on good runs, but you need to get a Price or a Lunquivst or a Miller to give yourself a chance every year. So, if Bernier can be that guy - and obivously they don';t think Riemer can - you gotta take the chance. Low risk high reward play, really.

yea I agree, I have family in Calgary and thankfully they are safe. I just hope the lost of life doesn't increase.

I seen the picture of the water up to the 8th row on fb the other day. Insane.
