yes, i do. car lye has dealt with skill a lot in anaheim. the leafs are tougher than edmonton so he will have the freedom to be creative without worrying about getting a beat down from the much more aggressive western conference teams. aside from boston, no team strikes fear. - therealagent
ya a ton of skill that played physical... you cant seriously think that perry and getzlaf play the same style of game as hemsky... he plays 40 games a season... he has great hands and vision but doesnt do anything in the leafs system |

Exactly a 3rd liner. But a top end one. If he got his head around a checking role he would be a solid player. - honesthockey
Top end dude? Come on, stop kidding yourself. He's an average/below average player. He'll be out of the league in 3 years, the problem is, he can't get his head around it all, he'll never put all the pieces together. He's 26 years old, not that good. Joey Crabb went on a scoring binge as well, remember those days. Same player, more or less. Hardworker, servicable, inconsistent, a plug. |

Sounds like Toronto expects to be busy on the trade front in the week ahead. Still eager to add a young centre and top 4 D.

Reimer to Edmonton for Hemsky or to Calgary for Cammy. Good trades for both teams.
Both of those make some logical hockey trade kinda moves. I pull for Calgary out west and would like to see Reimer get a shot there. - 50 Mission Cap
terrible trade.... the only top 6 player we need to trade for is a center.. anything else is a lateral move or a loss. |

its the not so much the trade i dont like its the situation... both reimer and bernier have made it quite apparent that they want to be a number 1... why bring in 2 guys that both want to be number one...its great for competition if they even agree to playing in a system liek that... i think those assets could be better used on a dman or a centre - DarcyTucker16
Fair enough.
But let's wait to see what nonis does moving forward. He likely has a couple more cards up his sleeve.
I'll reserve my final judgement til the end of the offseason. It might make more sense when we see what he does moving forward |

Burke got a raw deal here. Bell didn't like his image. That the only reason he's gone. |

ok, why does trading for wingers which is the strongest part of our team make logical sense?
When the leafs have huge holes up the middle and on the back end?
We don't need any over the hill soft injury prone wingers. The only winger I would like is David Clarkson. Other than that, worry about other positions. |

What this now, 3 consecutive blogs about a back up goalie trade that makes zero sense...... - burn
Oh, the precious gems of Hockeybuzz.
At any rate, I think it's a good deal. He's young, reasonably cheap, and the sky is the limit Bernier. I'm sad to see him go, to be honest.
There's no telling what Scrivens will bring us, or Frattin for that matter. A 2nd round pick is even more risky. |

What's a better trade. Not bs bag of puck fot Towes or something but. Real trade.
I'd prefer a #1 c as well. |

Some rumblings Phaneuf may be in play. Nonis says he will trade just about anyone, but says no one has called on the captain...yet. #TSN |

thinking more selanne, koivu, macdonald. talented players but not gritty. i've seen edmonton enough to know hemsky can be chippy. |
