Exactly a 3rd liner. But a top end one. If he got his head around a checking role he would be a solid player. - honesthockey
you guys can replace him via FA with a guy like bickell or clarkson. or you could make a trade with the rangers and take pyatt off our hands
it's tougher to get a #1 goalie via FA. |

Frattin dealt for missing that breakaway in game 7. |

I don't disagree at all. But it's not like we didnt get something of value back here
Bernier's potential far exceeds frattin and scrivens combined
I also think there are guys on the Marlies who could do the job as well.
And, I doubt nonis is done. Hell, resign Mac if need be |

this too. with decent scouting, you could get a solid 3rd liner from any of the first 4-5 rounds in the draft. |

i live in edmonton and have watched him play... tons of talent but is softer than a beenie baby... you honestly think he will fit into a carlyle system... use your head - DarcyTucker16
yes, i do. car lye has dealt with skill a lot in anaheim. the leafs are tougher than edmonton so he will have the freedom to be creative without worrying about getting a beat down from the much more aggressive western conference teams. aside from boston, no team strikes fear. |

Hemsky - Kadri - Kessel would strike fear into all opponents. - robin_steele264
since hemsky is hurt 70 percent of every season and you put in Lupul instead. yea I agree, that is a pretty good line. Lupul - Kadri - Kessel and we didn't even have to give up anything!
I like your thinking |

its the not so much the trade i dont like its the situation... both reimer and bernier have made it quite apparent that they want to be a number 1... why bring in 2 guys that both want to be number one...its great for competition if they even agree to playing in a system liek that... i think those assets could be better used on a dman or a centre |

Reimer to Edmonton for Hemsky or to Calgary for Cammy. Good trades for both teams.
Both of those make some logical hockey trade kinda moves. I pull for Calgary out west and would like to see Reimer get a shot there.

why is that hilarious?
it's been so long since the leafs have had anything remotely close to goaltending depth that nobody understands how it actually works. - Barx
Every team needs depth at all positions. I like the depth the Leafs have in their organization compared to before Burke took over. |
