Malone's contract is better suited for a cap floor team. When healthy, he's worth every penny. He brings more to the Lightning than Booth does to the Canucks. If the Bolts didn't have people ready to replace him, I doubt we'd be talking about a buyout. Everyone loves Bugsy.

Bernier is now off the market so Lu's value just rose to TBs first and Stamkos .

I really, really doubt this. Anything short of a Vinny for Luo swap makes no sense from Tampa's perspective.

Cap hit and actual dollar amount are an issue for Tampa. Not a make or break issue, but one that the Bolts have to keep in check far more vigilantly than a team owned by a major entertainment conglomerate such as MLSE etc.

Bishop and Lindback are a fine tandem 'til our Russian super-prospect is ready to become our diplomat of the diamond depot #bowen.


Even if we need a vet to come in and mentor Val, this is not the way to go about it. Term length and cap hit are just too brutal to take on. Heck, even with Vinny going back the other way, I feel like it's kind of a counter-intuitive move.

Huh.... I'm undecided on that. Certainly helps the cap sit. via Malone. Edler is a great player, Hansen is useful and Schneids would def. take over our #1 spot and is still young.

For the love of god, would someone(except the Islanders) please do SOMETHING with Luongo. It's such a worn out discussion. We've heard rumors linking his trade to nearly every team in the league, at this point. There should be a "Stupid Contracts Penalty" in the next CBA to keep GM's/Owners from creating situations like this.(like forfeiture of draft picks?) He's paid a ton of money to ride the pine, his contract the only thing standing in the way of him being traded to a team that could benefit from his services. There HAS to be a way to restructure his contract or make him viable for trade. A mutually agreed termination of contract - with a restructure agreement set for the team that trades for him - SOMETHING the lawyers can figure it out- because every fan, especially the Canuck fans, must be sick of this by now.
