Totally not. Letang is not gonna resign in Anaheim, and no rental is worth Ryan, Beauch, and two 1sts.

One year of Letang is so worth it. You will win the cup guaranteed!

Rackell? I didn't mention him...I said:

Letang <-> Ryan + 1st + Beauchemin + conditional 1st in 2015 if Ryan isn't extended.

which amounts to trading an older D-man who isn't the most mobile person anymore, Ryan - who is good but very streaky, and a 1st (who could turn out to be a bust). The conditional 1st in 2015 could be anywhere, but likely something in the 20+. In exchange you get a signed Letang who will be the #1 D on your team for the next 6-8 years...I think that's actually a great deal for ANA!

- mventres

The rakell statement was to a comment before.

So what would the conditional pick be if he did resign? I don't know if you watched a single ducks game this year but beauch was extremely mobile until he tore his acl. Also the ducks aren't looking for a letang type player to be their #1 d. We need a big shutdown type of guy. Defense needs to come first.

And if you're going to bring up the word streaky, I would look at letang's "defense".

the Panthers just need to start winning...or at least sign a player who's name you can sell. Not since Bure could you think of a genuine superstar from the Panthers. At least Columbus had Nash. Not poopting on Florida, just looking forward to seeing them compete again
- sudburyboy

Exactly.. in actuality, our attendance has gone up in the last few seasons, and was the highest ever when we made it to the playoffs two seasons ago. With our new division rivals coming to town next season, I think our crowds will continue to grow.

That is terrible overpayment for ANA. I wouldn't even give up Ryan and a 1st for Letang.

Not sure he wouldn't sign in ANA. It's a very good team, in a great location where he will be "the man" and get paid 7-7.5/year. Obviously, and as I stated, the deal was contingent on him signing...
- mventres

Not that I don't like Letang, I just think that with Perry and Getzlaf signed to monster contracts, Anaheim doesn't need another 7-8 million dollar player. I think of TB and Pittsburg. Sign one or two "franchise players" and find a balance between rookies, vets, gritt and rentals for the rest

God damn I love me some halak.

But since we're talking about Ryan, I'd start at a top 4 d and a first. Or for a better player or top three pick I'd offer Ryan, hiller and our first. Simple as that

Well, if the rumors on the net are even close to true, the return I am describing is what you'll see if Letang is dealt...he's one of the top 3 D-men in terms of offense/PP, and while prone to gaffs here and there is an average D-man overall. Importantly, he's just entering his prime. A LOT of teams need that exact D, and I would include ANA among them - Fowler is you PP guy now, and he's nowhere (and probably never will be) on Letang's level. Having a guy like Letang can totally change the dynamic of the team...if it's not ANA, other rumors I've heard (from sports people, not hockeybuzz people) include (assuming a SIGNED Letang):

EDM: Eberle+ or 7th overall++
COL: 1st overall
VAN: 1st + Edler + Kassian + prospect
CGY: 6 + 22 + Giordano
DAL: Eriksson + Dillon + prospect or 2nd round pick (for Letang+prospect)
CLB: J Johnson + 14th + 19th
STL: Stewart + Shattenkirk

Point is, in a market where the demand in insanely high for puck moving d-men (Gonchar got 5mil!, Streit got 5+!), the return will be substantial...whether or not the player skill levels match up in the return. It's simple "economics" (in the sense of commodities, not $$)...

I'm a hockey person. If I told you that I'd give you a bag of pucks and Paulina Gretzky for Letang would you put it up there? Point is, Letang can go for anything you hear, but most likely not as high as you said, fanboy.

Not going anywhere.. an arena that pulls in huge profits, proceeds that benefit the county and the everglades wildlife park, charitable donations, owners with their business 10 miles away.. the Islanders and Devils will move before we ever do.

Again what us ducks fans are saying is that we already have two stars locked up for eight years. We don't have the budget to add another so we have to rely on the draft and cheaper options. No team in that situation would ever make that kind of trade. Especially for a player that isn't even a necessity
