I wouldn't trade Yakupov straight up for Miller and Erhoff, let alone adding in Dubby and the 7th overall.

We could use Erhoff but no way at the cost of Yakupov. Ask yourself this, would you trade a 19 year old 1st overall pick for a 31 year old defenseman and a 33 year old Goalie? No slight to Erhoff or Miller, both good players but that trade would seriously set us back in 2 years. Especially since Miller would likely sign elsewhere after 1 year in Edmonton.

If I'm trading Yakupov, it's in a package for a Dman like Weber, Pietrangelo, Doughty, etc.

well if we do, this is the type of player we're expecting back.

so seeing as most of those guys aren't available, we'll be looking for a tier down if you will.
but in that case we'll be using other assets to attempt to acquire said players (7th, prv, gagner, klefbom etc etc)

yak is a 19YO first overall pick! EDM could have 20 more years of Yak. He was on pace for 30 goals in his rookie season. Why would they do that deal?

No, you saying our players aren't worth poop, while acting like yours are made out of solid platinum shows your homerism. If you payed attention to anything Sabres-related, you'd know that Miller is an above-average goaltender on an absolutely dismal team. Saying we'd MAYBE get a conditional 13th overall pick for Miller is stupid. He's obviously not getting us a top 5, but not that mediocre of a return.

If Monahan is there I think we take him because we need that big 2 way centreman. I'm not sold on Gagner long term. Once Monahan is ready, we can trade gagner for a Dman or a big winger.

The likely pick is Nurse which I am fine with. Big shutdown guy that can skate, hit, fight and is mean. May have some untapped offensive potential. Ristolainen and Zadorov could slot in there.

Mac T has said he is looking at a centre, specifically named Mackinnon, Barkov, and Monahan. Didn't say Lindholm, that's why I think we take Nurse if the other three are gone.

I dunno. it's tough.

we're loaded with high end young forwards already in the nhl, and little to no nhl level young dmen.

but as far as actual prospects coming up, it's exactly the opposite.

we've got klefbom, marincin, musil, gernat, fedun etc. while our forward list in okc is terrible.

nurse wouldn't be a bad pick at all. and his mean streak and skill set could be just what the oilers need.
I think mact is gonna try and move the pick for immediate help, but if that fails probably one of nurse, ristolainen or Monahan.

if nichushkin falls he's a very viable candidate too.

Yakupov ain't getting traded for anybody. I honestly wouldn't trade him for any player in the league..not sayin he's the best player but there's way to much potential with him..He's the perfect right winger for Oilers.
