Dude you're overhyping him Garth style. There is a reason he isn't being put in the same category as Mackinnon, Drouin and Jones. He's good, he's really good but you make him sound like he's God on skates.

Again he'll probably be a really good hockey player, but I'm not "emptying the cupboard" for him so to speak. Also IMO Monahan is better defensively than Barkov, especially when you look at what he had to work with.

well lou is a very good goalie with a poopty contract, maybe better than miller and he has what gm's like playoff experience and he has been to the finals so they would feel he knows how to get there, some reason they take that intoaccount

miller's numbers have been declining entering his prime and other than last season (lockout) after the sell off you the sabres were supposedly a playoff team and hasnt made the playoffs in a couple of seasons, so gm's may see that as a negative

very good goalie but teams would rather go younger and cheaper rather than a goalie that has a high cap hit on a 1yr contract that has declining numbers giving up good assets

The team was a mess the past two years in terms of play on the ice and roster composition. Miller is the reason they did not pick in the top 5 each of the past two years. The play of the defense last year may be the worst I have ever seen watching the Sabres since the 80's. It was THAT bad.

I think Lungo and Miller will get a similar return in a trade. Why? Luongo's contract, plain and simple. It's like an anchor on a team weighing them down.

Someone is going to decide before the draft that a goalie is what they need to get over the top next year . They will probably even negotiate a sign and trade so they have him for more than one year .
At this point I think picks are best if we are committed to a rebuild. To me the goal is to be crappy enough to have a shot at McDavid in 2015 . He is the next sure thing !

The Flames are taking a centre & if Monahan is available(which he should be) it'll likely be him with an outside chance they grab Lindholm. They will NOT & I repeat NOT take Nurse at #6. The Sabres can nab him at 8 since you have him rated so high.

we're NOT in serious need of goaltending. it's some myth that somehow became fact on HB.
dubnyk is still in development, but had decent numbers behind one of the worst defences in the league. his numbers were better than milers actually!
not only that, but he makes half as much. no one's saying miller isn't a great goalie, but his 1 year term is too risky and the oilers will NOT be spending big assets on their 5th biggest need. we're in search of a decent backup or guy to push dubs, but will not be spending big dollars on goaltending.

he possesses the size and skill we could use, but he was just terrible last year after the regression started the year before.
he actually only had 2 more points than prv, who is just now kinda figuring out the nhl game. I don't make that trade.

and whether you like hemsky or not, to completely rip him and then sing staffords praises makes me laugh. it's literally a sideways move for both teams right now.
both guys way overpaid and underperforming. except that hemsky's contract is done at the end of this year. not only that, but hes proven way more at the nhl level.

Myers is headed for the sh*tter and is getting paid way too much. Grigorenko has proved he won't be ready for the NHL in the next year.

7th+MPS+Gags+Musil definitely has higher value at this point. Not scraps champ
