LOL this blog made me laugh. I hate that bloggers like Garth and clouts start arguments between the fans.
If Edmonton wants players from buffalo, I'd imagine it'd be Myers, mcnabb, pysyk or foligno. - ystoil
I am sure you would love to have them, but of course, 90% of your team are untouchable and you would never get any of them for spare parts. |

Interestingly enough, "advance statistics" say that Miller is amongst the NHLs best keepers in save % during 5 on 5 play. - SuperCat
Well considering where he once was, even a significant drop in play would leave him in a good spot in comparison. I would be okay signing Miller a year from now to a reasonable contract to be honest (something like 4yrs 18 mil), but right now there are too many question marks to make a significant offer in trade.
1. Is he still the Vezina worthy goalie he was 4 years ago?
2.would he sign an extention at a reasonable hit?
3. Could I get a better deal from the Canucks for Luongo? |

I don't want either, but if looking at a long term veteran Goalie I would rather have Lou. Contract is poop but he is still better than Miller. |

Hemsky is 29 years old, how in the world is that old? That is a player in his prime. Yes hes often injured but what most people dont know or ignore is the fact that his injuries are always from the same shoulder, which he had a big surgery for last year to correct. Last year was the first year he came to play healthy in 5 years but unfortunately hurt his foot, how im not sure, blocked shot maybe? When he is healthy he can be a PPG player. Even when hes not he doesnt put up terrible numbers.

Not much. Trading for Lu would do more damage to your team. |

In about 4 or 5 years, yes it would. Truth is, we are sticking with Dubnyk for another year, so Miller, Luongo, Bernier, all these (frank)s are of little concern to use this year. |

yes trrade our two best young Centers on the team when the sabres are rebuilding and get draft picks that will take another 2 or 3 years - toddkac
If BUF wants #7 it will cost them Myers + Stafford...and maybe another asset/prospect D-man. EDM will turn around and deal Hemsky for a later 1st round pick - maybe to columbus... |

Vanek said if it is short rebuild he would stay.
Miller will say to the media whatever is PC. - toddkac
Vanek isnt staying. Believe what you will but he most definitely wants out. Hes already turned down multiple attempts at an extension |

Who cares what I believe.....Vanek wont be traded at the draft unless Darcy gets what he wants therefore if he is not traded at the draft Vanek will get traded at the trade deadline to the highest bidder if he doesn't go at the draft....that is what I believe
I am not a Vanek fan, I could care less about Vanek

Garth is pumping Staffords tires a bit too. He scored 30 exactly once. He is on average about a 17 goal scorer. Not bad but not great.Honestly, player for player, I wouldn't offer more than Hemmer. Unless of course they want Horcoff. - Jeropotato
I agree however Hemsky is also being over-hyped. The guy can't stay healthy & when he is, only shows up when he wants to. He's a streaky player because of that but when you combine how often he's injured, no GM is going to give up a boat-load for him.
And those rumors about a 1st & a prospect at the trade deadline are all a bunch of b.s in my opinion. I don't care if the Oilers were in the playoff hunt or not, if that's what Tambi turned down, then maybe that's why he's no longer the GM.
You won't get that in return now!!
I still think the Oilers offer up the 7th for a big forward with skill - I just have a feeling MacT is going to do just that. |

There not going to get full value for Vanek at the deadline. Thats why IMO he gets moved at the draft or shortly after. Teams are going to want him for a full year. A full year of play and a full season to negotiate |

If he were a cancer in the locker room his teammates would not have voted him team MVP. The media blows it out of proportion - OneKaneOneCup
Well if his teammates love him soooo much keep him and extend his contract. |
