Actually reports are Miller is open to staying and Vanek wants out
- OneKaneOneCup

Then I can't understand for the life of me why'd there be so many trade rumours for a goalie of Miller's stature. Has to be more to it. Who's gonna take over??

Stafford and a 1st for Gagner?
- OneKaneOneCup

OK, I admit Darcy would never do that... He overvalues his players and covets his draft picks. But there are 2 second rounders here still to peddle.

No NO he does that on his own. We all see his interviews, please don't try and tell me that the media was editing his interviews this season for ratings.
- YakCity

They actually baited him on the whole Kaleta thing. And yes he gives heated whiny interviews, but you have no clue whether he is a locker room cancer, and the signs point to him not being one

Does anyone think its possible to trade Cody Hodgson the 16th pick and the 38th pick to move up to the 9th or 10th pick maybe add Tyler Ennis in and a D in the package to move up to the 6th overall pick ?

6th,7th,8th
7th,8th,9th
7th,8th,10th

At the end of the year it looked like Miller was a goner. All if the sudden in the last few weeks, someone on this site and someone in the local media has reported it's more likely Miller stays than Vanek. So I don't know what happens,IMO both are gone by next deadline

Stafford and a 1st rd pick to Edm. for Sam Gagner.

Gagner is an Ontario product who really broke out this yr with 38 points in 48 games. He'd be great for this rebuild.s

- SuperCat

Dude, they're NOT trading centers. They're a bit lacking there, which is why mock drafts have them taking one or a Dman.

hemsky and stafford are both in the same situation both teams going with youth and a rebuild. a change of scenery would do both well. they both have an undeserved knock on them around the league. hemsky at his best is amazing. the knock is just doing it consistently. same here can be said about horcoff. lets remember both these players were key members of a stanley cup finalists. many forget that key point. miller is a great goalie but here in edmonton the expectation for a veteran would be very high. a bad run and the fans would run him outa town or drop him at the bus station. not a situation the oilers would want right now.

Typical troll blog...

How many times do you need to be told to get it through your thick skull...the Oilers have zero interest in Miller. Zero, zip, nadda...how many more ways do you need to be told?

- Iggysbff

I would say that your OPINION is fairly spot on. But since you've been so adamantly obnoxious about it... MILLER FOR #7 E5.

To be fair. That run that Horcoff and Hemmer were a big part of was a long, long time ago. Just like Millers Vezina. A long time ago.what you have here is 2 teams trying to trade off their worn out old garbage.no matter how you polish them up, they simply aren't what they used to be.

That's stretching it a bit. Miller: worn out, old, garbage? I think he is honestly frustrated of being on a losing team and 3k+ miles from his lady. And now that we're rebuilding? I couldn't see him having ANY interest being here. A change of scenery could do some good. Just my 2 cents.

With Miller going into the final yr of his deal, compounded with a regressing organization void of leadership and in total dissaray... The idea is to trade Miller for value before he walks via UFA, with no returns to speak of. Hes in his prime and yhey arent planning on being relevant in Buffalo anytime soon.

Unfortunatly, the way of the $6 mill goalie is not en vogue in today's NHL.

LOL this blog made me laugh. I hate that bloggers like Garth and clouts start arguments between the fans.

If Edmonton wants players from buffalo, I'd imagine it'd be Myers, mcnabb, pysyk or foligno.

Interestingly enough, "advance statistics" say that Miller is amongst the NHLs best keepers in save % during 5 on 5 play.

Miller will say to the media whatever is PC.
