My thoughts exactly. They need D men, so we can send Ehrhoff, 16th and a couple 2nds + to get it done. If that doesn't work, screw it. Unload the truck and send the 8th instead of the 16th.

the rest of the post is terribly off base. dubnyk put up very solid starter numbers behind one of the worst defences in the league. and he still only just turned 27

How long are you going to give him before you realize he's not a number 1? With the roster the oilers have, they shouldve been in the playoffs the last two years. The problem is goaltending.

If it's Jones, MacKinnon & Drouin top 3, the next 3 are Barkov, Nish & Monahan & in that order.

If Nish goes 3 to Tampa, then Drouin could drop to Carolina @ 5 because the Preds love Barkov as well.

Either way, Monahan falls right into the laps of the Flames at #6 & that's the player they love.

I disagree because if Carolina is moving the 5 pick, they'll still want the 8th, not wait until the 16th pick unless that is you're offering up a top prospect to boot or a young roster player(Not Erhoff)

I'd go as far as saying the entire top 5. MacK = Tavares clone. Jones = Pietrangelo clone. Drouin = Kane/St. Louis. Barkov = Lecavalier clone. Nichushkin = Someone like a grittier Heatley.

Carolina needs an NHL ready top-4 defenseman more than they need a prospect. Cam Ward is not going to be around forever.

yea I can't believe Dubey allowed 32.8 SA/G. That team in front of him is letting him down. EDM's SV% tied for 7th in the league last season with VAN, TO, and DET. If it's gonna be that low they're never going to make the playoffs.
