Half of the fans around the league have never heard of Dubnyk, Petry, Smid, Schultz or Paajarvi. Not about population. I'll bet you more BUF games broadcast in EDM, than vice versa. CGY and EDM games are unimportant to people in the east. Same way I know little to nothing about FLA, that's a heavily populated place

I've thought about making one, but there are SO many factors and outcomes that I'd have to make 6. There are countless opportunities for players to slide AND rise in the rankings. So far, I see the top ten as:

More Oilers games are broadcast here than you might think. Our proximity to Ontario means we pick up HNIC and when they have double headers we get some Flames/Oilers/Canucks games.

This is why drafts are so unpredictable - Tim Connolly was maybe the most gifted offensive talent in his draft year. Incredible hands which is why he was taken so high.

Unfortunately injuries slowed him down & cost him his career, for the most part. But entering the draft that year, not many scouts had any other players ahead of Connolly for pure talent & great hands.

Goes to show you that not everyone can excel at the next level either & players like Nuge still need to prove themselves before anointing them as future stars.

We have quite a few beauties of our own. toddkac is the "king" of them all. If he ever agrees with something, it's because I'm against it.

I jump on whatever chance I get to watch out-of-market teams like Edmonton. I can't necessarily say the same for a lot of other local people, however. firstrowsports.eu is a magical site for doing so, if you can get by the ridiculous amount of pop-up ads.

Miller is world class. Vezina trophy, he got the US silver in the olympics when Sweden Russia Canada were MUCH more talented then the US, and he got the US to OT vs Canada.

Without miller, we would have first pick. He got us into OT giving us the points we didnt want.

Yet again, someone who is seriously biased and shouldn't be taken very seriously (in this case). I know I don't have much room pulling the newbie card, but once you're on this site for a while, you learn what people to take seriously, and who to not take seriously. If you focused on the ideas and suggestions of knowledgeable Buffalo posters like dadeadhead, HonkfortheGoose, cabin, etc; you wouldn't be saying things like "they don't grow them bright down in big buff".

I want Drouin to fall to 4 or 5 and us to move up and get him, I cannot stress it enough how I think these top 3 this year are GOLD.

If it's Jones, MacKinnon & Drouin top 3, the next 3 are Barkov, Nish & Monahan & in that order.

If Nish goes 3 to Tampa, then Drouin could drop to Carolina @ 5 because the Preds love Barkov as well.

Either way, Monahan falls right into the laps of the Flames at #6 & that's the player they love.

That's why we need to trade up to Carolina's spot at #5. We are guaranteed one of Barkov, Drouin, Nichushkin.

My thoughts exactly. They need D men, so we can send Ehrhoff, 16th and a couple 2nds + to get it done. If that doesn't work, screw it. Unload the truck and send the 8th instead of the 16th.

I definitely see them going for him. Other than Shinkaruk, that area of the draft is a cluster(frank) of D men that NJ really wouldn't need.
