At this point they gotta get rid of bryz from a PR stand point nobody in this town wants to root or this guy, the saga needs to end and I was a big bryz suppoeter but the poor play on the ice and the saga off of it is just what puts it over the top with me...He needs to go bye bye next week

Under 8 days to make a call.

Shouldnt take that long to make...if they know whats best for their organization he will be out immediately....there are enough guys in the goalie market to find a temporary solution...unless a Bernier deal is reached but I doubt it

If they are trying to call the Kings bluff yes it will take this long. You want to over pay for a guy who only aspires to be a #1 goalie and shown he can do well in a really limited amount of work?

I think Read for Bernier would be a legitimate trade for both teams.

Maybe that's the flyers line in the sand or maybe they want the Kings to give up more by saying Bernier has a limited track record & none as a #1.

It's possible. I think it could be LA waiting to see if they could get more than Read from another team also.

However, in the end I think that's a fair trade and probably the best unless a team sneaks in and overpays.

That might be many opinions and I am not saying I'm not part of it but saying you aren't forced to buy him out now.

I get the impression that they don't care about all the other options it's either Bernier or they go with a Bryz/Mason combo.

The Flyers go big or the don't go at all.

- ob18

i think there's a clue that luukko gave a couple of weeks ago. he said bryz wasn't the problem last yr and that they'd be fine w/ bringing him back. then he said "it's really up to bryz". to me the dog and pony show between bryz's anti-philly rant and his agents embarrassing interview w/ the CGY radio station, w/ thinly veiled insults toward the flyers org, are a clear message.

i've heard from reliable sources that the exit interviews didn't go well for him...particularly G. iow, the preference seems to be for them to move on, but they don't want to show their hand. i also think they have to understand the recapture risk if he's hurt. he's not worth the agg, nor the CBA repercussions.

I hope the Flyers are thinking of it that way.

Put it this way: The Kings can do nothing, let Bernier walk on an OS, and get a 2nd round pick.

I'd be willing to bet they want more than that, but if I'm the Flyers, who have 2 goalies under contract, I wouldn't give up terribly more than a 2nd round pick.

They're not, but if they really want Bernier, they'll have to deal with LA.

To me, Read is an overpayment for him. Bernier has put up good numbers over 62 games. Steve Mason had stellar numbers on a worse team after 62 games. The Flyers got him for a 3rd rounder.

There's enough other options out there that Bernier doesn't have to be the hill they die on, to steal a line from the lockout.

They aren't, plenty of options available. As much as the Flyers may want Bernier it was the Kings who called teams to gauge interest if reports are 100% true.

That's probably the way I'd go about it if I did at all. My personal focus has been the draft but kept an eye on this news as it's happened.

just think- if CHI wins, the flyers will emphasize being more of a faster paced, puck possession team. can't wait to win this yrs cup next yr

Exactly its the kings who have to make a quick decision. Make them sweat because if they trade Bernier to Min or Tor then ok I will sign Emery or trade for Halak or whatever enough options and I am in the opinion that you need to develop a goalie and I say find a temporary solution til Solatrz is ready if ever
