I've recently spotted a bald spot on the top of my head.
It's small... but it's there.

The good news is that it usually means that you will start growing unsightly body hair in other places.
Congrats. |

What I heard was 2012 was top heavy with a huge drop off, while 2013 goes deep. I think Rielly was/is a better prospect than Darnell Nurse for example. Outside of Jones, i don't think there is a d-man in 2013 that I'd take over Rielly that's going in the first round. - mykokes
every year the commentary coming from the media hoard is the "this is going to be a great draft"...
each year there are a handful of maybe five or six just drafted players who make their NHL clubs and couple of them either shine or do just okay.
we won't know how good the 2012 or 2011 draft years are for at least another 2 to 3 years.
remember when Hall and Seguin were all the talk.... well Hall seems to be becoming the player everyone expected and Seguin is playing largely 3rd line minutes... so the sure-fire prospects aren't even sure anymore. (this is not meant as a criticism of either Hall or Seguin... just picked them because of the hoopla about one being picked over the other).

According to the anti-Kessel trade crowd, both Seguin and Hamilton are going to the Hall of Fame

Yes, we spend our youth shampooing our head and washing our ass only to reverse that task in later years.

Here'a hint, is Tim Leiweke American? Has he been living in the greatest city in the world working for the greatest sports franchise in the world - and you expect him to take the word of Dave Nonis.
Can you imagine the collision of ego's if Burke was still around. |

cool... I took my kids last summer as well.
actually, one of my kids could end up there... he's now 14 1/2 years old, 6'3" 195 and skates like the wind.
his brother will no doubt be a litigator... I'd love to turn him lose on the NHL power brokers... he would be nominated in the builder category for getting rid of Bettman. |

Reilly was the best Defenceman in his Draft! He jumped Murray in rankings almost immidiately after the draft! Only reason he was not a top 3 pick was because of his knee injury - steve362
I think today, Trouba is the best one from the 2012 draft, with Reilly still up there. |

These guys just make poop up. Probably didn't even watch more than a game or two of the Leafs last year. No offense but the only guy I'd move the 7th for from Toronto os Gardiner, but I don't think he fits our need. - Iggysbff
Gardiner is more valuable right now than the 7th overall, or Rielly for that matter. Even if it was for RNH, the gain at centre would be offset by the hole created by the loss of what could have been a premiere puck moving defenseman. For those who say no problem, Rielly will be our PMD, so there's no need for duplication, I reference the same argument made about Rask, when we traded him in favour of "sure thing" Pogge. |

2013 is legit, same way 2008 was legit for its d and 2003 was legit for its depth. I get where he was going with his statement, but his statement is like saying Malkin has less worth than say Vanek because he was in a pooptier draft year.

I call shenanigans!!! Why would we waste our #1 pick on a goalie in the same class as Reimer.
#1 Center!! how many years have we been waiting. You could dust an article off from 2008 and you would think it was just written. Take advantage of the teams that can't afford their RFA's. Take a flyer on Lecavalier if he is bought out.
However if this "rumoured" transaction is a larger one including a Kopitar or Richards.
Then Git R Done! - Frosty_Nipples

That's why they get rid of qualified people like Burke and Quinn, to create room for for guys like this and Peddie.
Hopefully I'm completely wrong about this guy, but I'm experiencing a serious case of Deja Vu right now. |

As long as the pick is a 2nd...
You can offer sheet Bernier and it would only cost the team a 2nd...so Nonis better not be offering up the 1st + ANYTHING.
Could this turn into a bigger deal where the Leafs get Kopitar, Richards or Carter along with Bernier? - BoBBeR56
The only way this works is if every other team in the sweepstakes passes on Bernier as well. Offer sheets can't go out until July 5. You're taking a big gamble by assuming that no other team pulls the trigger before then.
Also, the only way that it only costs you a second is if the offer sheet has an average value below $3,364,391. Any more, and it costs you at least a 1st and 3rd pick in the 2014 draft. For $3.3 MM, the Kings would match and trade Stoll for prospects. |
