Toronto Star, Kevin McGran more specifically said the offer by Nonis is what L.A wanted last year.. Scrivens and Frattin for Bernier - PatC80 He did?
What article? He said - "The Leafs won’t get into a bidding war for Bernier."

from Mikes blog - The price for Bernier would likely include the Leafs first round pick(21st overall in the upcoming draft and a prospect - Woderwick
Thanks .... Stopped reading right before that ....
I really don't want to use out 1st for him . |

I personally don't even understand the interest, especially not at the cost of our first+.
Can't they find some cheap vet to backup Reimer? - Aetherial
The 1st can't possibly involved in this deal - for Bernier alone...I think Mike is trying to get us going. |

Don't trade the pick for a goalie. There are bigger holes on this roster Nonis could fill if they're going to move the pick. I'd still rather they just hung on to it in this deep of a draft. |

This.
Even if we blow our 1st and some mid-level prospect i'm alright with it.
Bernier is better than Reimer. Reimer is a good goalie but he's a 15-20 Goalie at best. Bernier has more up-side.
Plus even if we acquire Bernier and Reimer turns out to be a superstar, then we have two amazing goalies that are 24-25. which is a good problem to have. - JDBrickz
Goaltending controversies aren't really good problems to have, though.
I agree that at any other position, depth is good. But with goalies, you need to roll with one starter.
It's too mentally demanding to go inviting distractions. |

Recent past history shows a bad history trading draft picks or prospects for a goalie. Nothing ever changes. Stupid is as stupid does. |

You'd think that watching Rask win a Conn Smythe (there is literally nothing that would stop him at this point, even if they lose) would make us hesitate just a little about tossing away another highly touted young goalie... |

I haven't seen Bernier play but he better be very good if we are giving up a first rounder+ for him.
Yeah, you have to build from the net out and I am not 100% sold on Reimer but I think he deserves a full season without being injured before we give away too much for him. |

We're good with our Starter thanks. If anyone wants to send Pietrangelo, McDonagh, Carlson our way then great!
But no we aren't sending any of the super kids the other way in the deal. - Iggysbff
that's correct. only the 7th pick will go to the leafs |

Remember guys this is what Mike thinks we might give up for Bernier. But I have read plenty of rumors suggesting Frattin plus a 2nd could get it done. Maybe another prospect. But they should NOT give up the 1st round pick in a deep draft. Will come back to haunt us like it usually does. |

I'll say...Leafs had to average 11 goals a game that year. |

I have to laugh at the people who think Reimer has a bad glove hand. They obviously never saw Red Light Raycroft play. |

If you have a choice between
A) Red Light Raycroft
B) Vesa Toskala
C) The Monster
Who do you take? |
