Who would you rather move? Frattin or Colborne? - JIMI-JAMES
Frattin looked great at the start of the year Colborne hasn't impressed yet mind you he hasn't been given a true opportunity. At this point Colborne to be moved.
I also don't see where Colborne fits in, unless Grabovski is moved, also they cannot make Kadri a #1 center he's not ready for that. |

if we can package franson and the 21st to move up that would be ideal
sign briere for a year or 2
with the center we pick up from moving up, they now have 2 more years to develop, so does kadri and colborne
future centers could be kadri, colborne and the center we pick (be it horvat, wennberg, domi or lazar) |

Bernier was beat out by a guy...period. So saying he'll end up as anything is presumptuous on your part. You got a crystal ball in your pocket? All I know is Reimer HAS DONE IT ALREADY.
Needless to say I disagree with you about those guys I mentioned. Oduya has been terrible, IMO. The other guys have been solid...but no better than a healthy Gunnar.
Ference is awful. Period. - djamon
Raycroft had done it too.... and Rask hadn't |

Hes like 6 ft 5 why get rid of someone like that if thats what the leafs wanted the whole time big bodies?
Only way id consider trading him is if its franson, our 1st+ for bobby ryan not for a stupid draft pick |

yea 6'5 and doesnt even use his size to his advantage. gardiner can easily replace the offense that franson brought us. replace franson's size with scuderi in the offseason |

Someone didnt watch the leafs this year or playoffs - Mapleleafs_91
o i watched every game, but just because he used it a bit in the playoffs means nothing. i've seen him consistently getting out worked by smaller players, for example, briere
i get that franson is useful, and i do like him, but if he wants 4 mil+ on a contract like Josi and Voynov got, sorry, not worth it, if he takes a more acceptable deal, say 3-3.5 mil, then sure i would welcome him back.
gardiner is going to be getting a lot more playing time next year. he is exactly the player the leafs need, more so then franson. franson is slow and doesn't have the best first pass, and takes him time to break out of the zone. gardiner is the complete opposite. he can slow things down and pick things up. can rush, but also make a good first pass. |

I kind of agree, kind of don't.
One of your arguments was that Franson doesn't use his size/body, but neither does gardiner.
I like both, and I don't think they are redundancies for the team.
Gardiner is fast and has good vision for the ice. He's offensively minded, but I noticed in the playoffs he's been getting a lot better in his own end.
Franson has a good shot and is good offensively as well as powerplay, and is slightly more defensively minded. Honestly I dont think he's that slow either. Not fast by any means, but his speed isn't a hindrance to the team.
I actually think he'd be a good partner with Gards. Especially on the powerplay. |

Ek reports that Clarkson wants to be a Leaf, so the Leafs are negotiating a trade for his rights....why the hell would we trade for him if he wants to sign with us anyway?...talk about ridiculous |

gardiner is learning to use his body and speed to be able to rub guys out along the boards. i get franson is good on the pp, and i like the phaneuf, kessel and franson threat for shots up high, but gardiner can replace his vision as well as that ability to jump in for that seem pass by kessel that he hit franson on a lot this year. |

Plus, I don't see how the stats are relevent in this case. In fact, comparing goalie stats often is a pointless exersize since so much is team dependant. I promise you this: if Bernier was a Leaf 2 years ago, Riemer would never even have gotten a shot. And im not poopting on the guy, I like him (well except that he's an idiotic Jesus Freak, but thats not my business) but Bernier is better and its not even comparable.
Bernier has a chance to be a franchise player, so you get him, and they will. - Timmy_Bee
Seriously shutup. Reading your stupidity for the past however many pages WAS funny but is now annoying.
Bernier is a great PROSPECT, but I'm sure if you looked at history there have been way more "great prospects" that haven't panned out then "great prospects" who did.
Reimer is the same age as Bernier and has battled to get to where he is.
Yes his rebounding sucks and he can't handle the puck BUT HE IS TWENTY FOUR YEARS OF AGE. Coaches are hired to FIX these problems.
So again, shut the (frank) up and go suck Bernier's richard right off. |

I get that Gardiner can replace Fransons vision and a couple other aspects but I don't see either one of them being redundant because of the other.
Its like saying we dont need Lupul because we have JVR, who plays a similar style.
Keepng both is a positive for this team. Id be looking to replace Gunnarsson, Liles and Obyrne.
We need a number 2 with Phaneuf. |

He'll get a 2 year contract at 3-3.5M/per, or Nonis will sign him to a long-term at 4-4.5M/per. But yes, he's easily worth that 4.5M. Him playing with Fraser really helped his game. I remember at the beginning of the year Franny wasn't too much into the physical aspect but 20 games in and he's finishing checks and working the boards.
He's my secret love, I think he should be paired with Phaneuf.
Gunnar, Kule/Frattin, 21st overall for either a top ten pick or a #1C |

But I hope to god they dont give him anything over 4 million |
