Why are people so in love with Riemer? He is, at best, a middle of the road starting goalie. There is tons of evidence to suggest Bernier could be a star. As for GUnnerson, lets look at the final four teams in the playoffs this year: would Gunnerson be "top four" on any of them? Absolutley not. So, what evidence am I ignoring?

What evidence? Reimer's played more games and has a better numbers (Save %, shutout %, win %) behind what I assume you think is a far worse defense. Frankly, at this point it's not even close. Bernier was drafted to be the Kings' #1 and instead was never able to beat out the 3rd rounder already on the team. So I'm baffled as to what evidence you think there is to suggest he'd be a star. Hell...Toskala looked great on SJ before he came to Toronto.

And if you think the likes of Oduya, Boychuk, Ference and Hjalmorsson are better than Gunnar than I can't really help you. It may be a lost cause.

you could probably find arguements as to how they could be better then gunnar, boychuk has a bomb of a shot and rocks people, hjarmalsson plays a very similar style to gunnar, but has a stronger supporting cast, so his mistakes are less noticeable cause keith can skate to make up for them, whereas phaneuf might not

Bernier was beat out by a guy who had one of the best seasons in nhl history/ all those guys you listed are miles ahead of gunnerson. Like, way better. Did you watch any playoffs? Andrew Ference is not as good as Gunnerson? What?

There is no educated, sane, hockey savvy person in the world who would take Gunnerson over anyone of those players. Andrew Ference is a top pairing dman on a cup winning team. Odya is an animal, Hjarmalsson is who gunnerson wants to be and like you said., Boychuck has a bomb. He also plays a complete game.
