Bernier is better.

I thought Markstrom was the best goalie prospect not in the NHL...what happened with that? And no, I'm not being sarcastic...I'm dead serious...has he lost a step?

I think he's going to be an amazing goaltender. He is jus so damn tall and doesn't know how to use his size. He is caught deep in the net far too often. Either way, we need some serious goaltending help. I think Luongo makes more sense because it allows Markstrom to learn from one of the best for a few years.. and it also allows us to trade Clem to the Canucks are part of the deal so they get a quality back up.

So he sais the leafs have uped their bid but doesnt give any hints as how much?

The first part of my response was somewhat laced with sarcasm for our good friend Orpik. I don't understand at all how Bernier could possibly have more value than Reimer.

And I don't buy these Bernier rumours one bit in the first place. Unless Nonis really does blame Reimer for the meltdown in game 7.

You guys were a horrible team last season, had nothing to do with goaltending. Markstrom is a legit starter, hell he was by far much better than both Theodore and Clemmenson but had to wait till Theodore got hurt to get his chance. Florida just needs to beef up the rest of the team.

I don't see Markstrom ready to start yet.. he needs another year or two backing up a quality net minder. I want to see either a Luongo trade with Markstrom backing him up, or us signing a good veteran back up like Dan Ellis. We have some good goaltenders still in our pipeline like Houser and Brittain. If we go into this season with Markstrom/Clem as the tandem, I'm not opening my eyes for six months.

Hmmmmm, problem with that scenerio is LA doesn't have a 1st round pick to trade with bernier for reimer +2nd.......but sure, scrivens +2nd for Bernier would work.

You can offer sheet Bernier and it would only cost the team a 2nd...so Nonis better not be offering up the 1st + ANYTHING.

Maybe someone likes Reimer or as mentioned earlier, there could be more involved in this deal.

Never a bad idea to have depth, but if they give a ton for bernier, pretty clear they dont have much faith in reimer.

And does bernier sign somewhere that he could get stuck as a backup again? Seems odd
