*The Flames and Rangers are discussing a "multi-player" swap per a western source...

Who could the Rangers want?

I really like Glencross.

Unless they want to make a trade for one of Calgary's 3 first round picks.

I also like Stempniak. But I am nervous if this rumor is true. What is Calgary going to want from us?

Great trade for the leafs.

Even better that the Isles didn't get him, more Nabokov please, it would be a perfect world to win the Cup and run over the Isles again in the process

Probably one of, if not 2 of.. Fast, Lindberg or St. Croix... and maybe a future pick.

Youd be lucky to get a bag of pucks for those guys... except Fast, hes worth a bag of sticks.

Hes good, he projects to be a similar player as Hagelin.

Fasth is a very good skater with nice acceleration and top speed. He works very hard, forechecks with impressive intensity and also create a lot of offense thanks to his agility and speed. Has decent hockey sense, technical skills and scoring ability, but it perhaps still more likely to develop into a role player. Is not an overly physical player, but likes to play through rough traffic and does it pretty well.

Sounds like one of these young kids who could be a spark plug in the playoffs.

Ouch. Yeah, I hope they get that thing cleaned up and the damage isn't too severe. That's one heck of a mess right now in Calgary.

I would too... where does he fit in though? Hes behind Stepan, Richards, Brassard, Miller on the depth chart. Not even factoring Boyle cause St. Croix wont be a 4th line center.

He needs a year, at least, in the AHL to refine his skills to the adult level and put on like 10-15 pounds.

We should temper expectations for a player based on how he performed as a 19, 20 year-old playing against much younger and physically less mature competition in Junior. It's nice to see but I agree with Aecliptic that he'll need to develop further in the AHL and learn to play against men.

is he turning pro next season?

not sure where he fits in but he'll fit in somewhere hopefully. honestly, the chance that all of st. croix, fast, lindberg, etc. pan out aren't 100% so we don't know who's gonna make the squad and who doesn't. worst comes to worst, it makes another forward expendable or we can package a few of them for a higher quality player.

Nope.

Hrivik is 6'2, but hes around 185lbs... had a semi decent first year in the AHL - 7G 19A in 40GMS.

Lindberg is 6'0, 185lbs.

The only one to look forward to is years away... Boo Nieves... hes 6'3, 190lbs and 19yo.

TSNs Darren Drager has reported that PHANEUF may be in play.

To Toronto: Sam Ganger, 1st (7th overall)

To Edmenton: Dion Phaneuf, Josh Leivo, 1st (21st overall)

This from the main HB thread... I know its just throwing crap around as far as deals... but the gist of it being Phaneuf for Gagner and the 7th pick has been getting brought up all day.

I dont think this trade makes TOR better.

Knock me over with a feather, but MTL has officially notified Tomas Kaberle that the dman will be MTL's second and final compliance buyout.

One year left at 6 mil, impossible unless Richards is bought out and even then, very unlikely

and he is small, I don't see it, but I just keep seeing his name thrown everywhere

I definitely see Calgary as a team that would probably covet Del Zotto

I could forsee a deal with Glencross and MDZ as the centerpieces

I really hope the Blackhawks finish this season out tomorrow and we get down to full scale off-season business here

Id like to hold onto MDZ for one year to see how he does under AV... however, I could see Moore stepping into the PP QB role very smoothly.
