Yes they are rewarding teams with old time clutching and grabbing tactics... Teams just have to realize a way around it. Otherwise they look like Mike Gillis complaining hockey has gone this route and it's unfair. The best players just need to be the best. Crying to the refs about not enforcing the rules is the worst thing to do...

I dont think anyone cried about it. But to just be ok with a league not enforcing the ruled when the playoffs roll around is crazy

Thomas won't play a single game for them. Would you trust the team behind Nabakov or Poulin? They are worse than Fleury.
- Oneonta Penguin

They knew Thomas wasn't going to play for them. I'd be surprised if Thomas gets a gig next year.

Gillis had a nice little press conference about this whole issue in 2011. Not that I blame him, Bruins got away with too much BS in that series it's pathetic. What it takes is role players to eliminate these poop heads from attacking your best players and allow them to get to their game. Pens didn't do crap all in this regard... Hawks have adjusted quite nicely.

PS. I miss Talbot... I will take Clowe... Don't care bout penalty reputation too much we need poop disturbers

Yes, we need poop disturbers, but we need good players. I don't think Clowe is much of a player that can help vault us to where we should be. I don't want players on the serious decline either.

This has almost nothing to do with what Im talking about. What are role players going to do to eliminate the refs not calling the million interference, holding, and hooking calls going uncalled? The Adam Mcquaids of the world look like good NHL players in these series. Its boring hockey

For the right deal, you let Flower go and go after Halak/Hiller/Miller. Only if the return is good.

Well, someone traded Letang to Anaheim for Gibson, Sisba and Bobby Ryan. No joke.

I think Oripk traded Niskanen, Tanner Glass and the rights to Kennedy to STL for Shattenkirk and Oshie.

Hall is the guy they keep. They deal RNH and Eberle before they deal him.

I don't see why Edmonton would want Fleury. They have a less athletic, but equal version in him in Dubenyk.

I'm saying you're not gonna get what you want, so you have to combat it the best way, with good role players, if nothing rule wise will or has changed and you cant get results are ya gonna put out the same roster.

Make sense?

Just my opinion: if they had to trade someone to Pittsburgh to grab Letang, it probably would be Yakupov. If we send Fleury/Letang there, we could get a package of Yakupov/Smid or a pick (1st or 2nd).

I think they would trade Jordan or RNH before anyone else. They will keep yakupov because he is going to be a very good player just like te test of them, but he is the youngest and they wouldn't have to give him a big contract first. They won't have them all together for the long term because they will run out of cap space and by keeping yakupov they are able to get some other players under vontrct and allow the cap to go up more before securing him.

Picks:
1) COL- don't see them wanting Letang, but the option might be there to get the 1st and Heard, then flip 1st to another top 10 team for their pick or to a team in the top 15 for their pick and a player or prospect...double the assests

2)FLA- don't see a trade there

3)TB- they have some nice prospects, but they might be buying out Lecav, so I don't they want letang or flower cap hit

4)NASH- best option, they have decent goalies so they would look to letang to play next to Weber. They could offer their 1st and if I was shero I would ask for Forsberg (realize they just traded for him) and a player ( I would go for a D)

5)CAR- I doubt anything here

6)CAL- With kipper mayb retiring, flower could be in play. They have 2 other 1sts they can use.

7)EDM- either letang or flower would help them. Flower is a better starter then dubnyk (sp) and would help them get into the playoffs and a chance. letang would bring back a lot more tho eberle +1st would be fair

8)BUF- don't see it

9)NJ-

10)DAL- with new GM, RS cant take them.. lol plus they got even with the morrow for morrow trade... don't see a trade here..

I tried to do this all realistic, looking at each teams situation and what I think they need. the only thing that might be unrealistic is flower getting a 1st, but in all honesty, he is a stanley cup winner, and is a proven starting goalie... to a team that needs that, that could mean a 1st

no dice to flower to minny or isles

They keep Hall. They keep Yakupov because of his price now. They deal RN-H and Eberle before the other two.

Why would they deal any of them? With those four they have their forward core. They can work around them and fill in the other positions.

I doubt they deal their only young C. Nugent-Hopkins should stay there Gagner isn't signed yet. The reason I thought they would deal Yakupov before Eberle is because he's a fan favorite and is good friends with Hall, both being Team Canada material. Make no mistake about that: I'd rather take Eberle than Yakupov so if they trade him, I hope it is to us.

They aren't going to he able to keep them all under the cap for the long run and they are sick of being one of the 5 worst teams in the league every year and of they trade young talent they can get talent back.
