I believe we will do that as well. It's the easier trade to make and Darcy basically did the same thing last year. I hope Darcy makes a Vanek deal and if possible deals Miller as well. Time to fully rebuild and not do it half way. Let the suffering continue.

NSH does not want to move down and hasnt seen a blow you away offer yet.

For miller, its tough. He will for sure get a first rounder (top15) this year. He will also get a good prospect, maybe darcy can steal a top prospect. If Miller or Vanek agree to a sign in trade, we would get 2 first rounders and 2 top prospects just for miller, vanek would get more.

Gaustad deal was different, Nashville wanted to show Suter that they wanted to win now. Goose was last guy available and we got a first rounder.

I think that's good.. just load up on more 1sts for this year and next.. no need to put all your eggs in one basket that can blow its knee out and put us back even further. get 4 or 5 baskets..

The Value coming back for Vanek is much greater than Miller at this point on the trade market, but still not to Darcy's expectations. Darcy will play poker as long as he can and if a deal it struck it will be announced right before the draft selection. And it will be for a spot no lower than 4th.

I believe Miller will end up playing in Buffalo on opening day.

I dont think either vanek or miller are here opening day. I think they are both traded either June 29th (the day before the draft) ir June 30 (draft day)

I disagree. Lets face it straight, we are not one piece from the cup. I say get a bunch of first rounders this year, another top 10 pick, another pick in the teens, and a pick in the 20s. We will be in the top 3 picks the next few years, thats when we hit the for sure franchise player.

I can appreciate that sentiment.. but I think we can get some good players where we are.. a superstar can be available at 8 or 16, and we should be top 5 next year.. and if you get more you have more chances to get a superstar.. sometimes they can be picked even in the second round. I don't want to give up all our picks and pieces for the chance to get drouin.. what happens if he gets checked into the boards gets a concussion and never is anything more than tim Connolly? then all of the sudden you are even worse off.. but at the end of the day I am just a spectator along for the ride

Buffalo wont offer 8th. They have 7 second rounders in 3 years to throw in the trade. They have vanek staff ennis.

But you could say that about anyone. Any player can get injured at any time.

I am also of the mindset that I would take one legit "superstar" over 2 or 3 borderline "stars".

At this point we have nothing to lose.

I also realise 100% that we are not one player away from having a competitive roster. But I would rather build around a MacKinnon than pick up a couple of midle first rounders and hope for the best.

Although for some reason the more I read about Nichushkin, the more I want him.

Foligno is possible future captain for this team... he should very promising potential in 2012 before a regression of a season in 2013.

If you want our goods... you can't just send us scraps...
