Hmm, any player in their prime... Offensively Crosby. Defensively Chara

I never said Crosby wasnt amazing, I said id rather have 2 amazing all around players then 1 superstar.

- Djtyczy

Devil's advocate - it's easier to get the all around guys - truth is you need a bit of both to be successful. Superstars are, inherently, more rare and therefore harder to find. I'd take Crosby every day and build around him.

And I'm a huge Bergeron fan.

The reason Crosby can score so many points is because he is outstanding in all aspects of the game, offensively and defensively.
- ImThatGuy

Yes, I misread a question earlier. My original point was id rather have Bergeron and Krejci then Crosby

Hes not the best player in the league, hes the best point producer in the league. The best player puts up points, good leader, wins faceoffs, and plays great in both ends a.k.a. Bergeron.

Thats what you said.

1.Crosby
2.Tavares
3.Chara
4. Stamkos
5. Malkin

My top 5.

I think you have Chara too high. Although still a force he no longer dominates like he used to.

I assume that you didn't include MATT FRICKIN ELLIS on this list because that just isn't fair to the rest of the league?

I try not to be biased towards my own team.

Plus when you have that superstar talent, they are a huge marketing tool to bring in a good free agent. Players who want to win usually go play with superior talent.

Yes, the best player has different meanings. The best all around player IMO is bergeron. The best player to start a franchise with is Crosby IMO.

Starting a franchise he wouldnt be top 20 cause of his age. As of now, IMO he still is the best defender out there.

No, the best player of the game of hockey. The guy that teams fear the most. The guy who has the skill to do it all and then goes and does it. Bergeron and Krecji do not come near the level of Crosby. They are good players obviously, but they will never be considered the best players in the league outside of this thread.

I said Chara at D if we were talking about guys in their prime, and I assume he did to ranking him 3rd.

Wow, Bergeron scores a few playoff goals and suddenly he's the best player in the league? You do realize that Crosby still has more points than him right now even though Bergeron has played 4 extra games? Bergeron is a great player but me thinks you are basing your love affair with him on the Bruins recent success.

I would take Lucic over any Bruins forward.

Alright, around the league guys hate to play Bergeron and Crosby. Crosby because how deadly he is offensively. Bergeron because hes gonna dominate in the face off circle, play great in hisown end vs you and he is very good offensively.

Wow hearing what Darcy said in that press conference, especially in that voice of his, makes me want pull all my hair out. A lot of people expecting big things on draft day are going to be very disappointed when the only move made is trading one of the 2nd's for a third and a fourth rounder

I guarentee if you put many Bruins players on different teams they would fade into mediocrity. They work as a unit.

Players like Lucic or Chara would dominate on any team.

And around the league, as voted by his peers, like Krecji and Bergeron, Crosby was voted as the best player.

Guys hate playing against Ott and kaleta, because they know they are going to get hit, and effed with all night. That does not make them great.
