my only concern would be that he will probably just walk.. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to hold on to him and try to sign him until the deadline, if it looks pointless and we are no where near in the hunt, trade him at the deadline..

It's looking more and more like that after I heard that pre-draft PC yesterday.

The problem with this draft is that everyone is taking the label "as deep as it was in 2003" and thinking that the 8th pick will be a guy that can contribute right away. Even in 2003, most of the draft picks took a couple of years even to get to the league. This draft might be deep, but it's no different than any other of the recent years in that if you are looking for a guy that can play at the NHL level right away, you most likely have to get into the top 5. That poses a second problem: I think we end up finding out that nobody ends up trading the top 5 picks.

The difference here is, the police don't think Hernandez is guilty of the homicide, only that he covered up for somebody else.

Well a report just came out that his neighbors heard shots fired from his home that night, if that's true he's guilty just by being there.

The police made a point of saying that the obstruction charges could be upgraded. I think they wanted this guy behind bars now so they can build the case with him in jail.

Security cameras from other houses in the neighborhood also supposedly showed him with the victim and two other guys right before the shots were heard. And he destroyed his cell phone and his own security system and hired a cleaning crew before the body was discovered. It all seems pretty incriminating to me.

The main reason both Vanek and Miller should be traded is because neither will re-sign here. Most people don't expect us to be very good this season. Even if they both start the season here there's no way you let them walk away for nothing.

All it indicates is that a homicide took place at his home; not that he was the one who did it. He could just as easily be covering up for one of the other 2 people that were with him. Granted, that isn't much better, and it's still obstruction of justice, but if that's what turned out to happen, then this is not the same as Ray Lewis.

My point is this: I'm going to let things play out before I slap the "murderer" label on him. He's definitely guilty of doing something incredibly stupid and wrong, but that isn't necessarily murder.
