The bottom line here is who actually writes about the Islanders and loves them the way Dee does?? I don't see anyone else but I do see the same group of morons trashing her daily. I have looked at some of Dee's blogs and said Holy Crap, what is she smoking or She is out to lunch but overall she gives us something to read about and discuss Islander hockey. It is the people who reply to her blog that can make it interesting but in the Isles case some of them are just disturbers. So I say thank you Dee and keep plugging along, you are doing fine.

Only Dee......Only Dee
Most people who blog about a team on this site have some inkling about the game, rather than giving us the novices point of view. I defended her early on for the same reasons you are now, but it didn't take me long after actually consistently reading these blogs to determine they are only written for someone looking for community events and living within a few minutes of the stadium. It has little to no place on a national site like this.

Ohh Yha Boyes was in Beast mode all season, we were very lucky to have him! If only Snow would sign him long term!!!

Man, you guys are hard to please, lol. You get what you pay for. If Nabby could have stopped a beach ball in round one the Pens would have been wiped out. Try Grabner on rw with that line or give Nino a crack at it?? Can't be any worse than Boyes, right.

This is VERY true & if we go on that basis alone.. Boyes did a GREAT job.

Nino should get a look.

Despite what I said earlier, you have made a good point. Like I said Meltzer, Jaeckel, both right very good blogs. I agree Dee's knowledge of the game is minimal and is like you said a novice point of view sometimes. However once the blog opens and us guys start talking hockey we can take over the conversation and make it meaningful, right?? I say just go with the flow of her blogs, stop bashing her and make your own fun about hockey talk in general. I am done as I have said my say and everyone can have their own opinion and still be wrong, me included.

And since you're not here posting in our forum on a daily basis, you haven't been subjected to being attacked by other teams fans because of the utterly stupid things she spouts off. THOSE types of comments tend to stear us away from decent hockey conversations and more towards what a clown we have as a blogger. An example was her gloating blog about Nash's concussion to Ranger fans. We dealt with a solid two weeks of people coming here to pound us over it. It's not just Islander fans who are sick of it, we have critics coming from every team.
If we were on some generic messageboard it would be one thing, but this site tends to consist of rabid fans who are smarter than the average bear when it comes to hockey. It's no place for someones community diary and EK knows all too well about the lack of support she has here.

When does the Entry Draft talk begin?

Seems nearly every Mock Draft I look at has us taking another "D" man @ #15.

Reason stated is our lack of a legit #1 "D" man in the organization!

Seems the consensus is, we are loaded with 2nd and 3rd pair "D" men.

Any thoughts?

So that guy over there from the Edmonton blog says the ISlanders are trading Nino for Hemsky? All I can say is this:

- kasperrko

I couldn't think of a less desirable player to trade for than Hemsky. I certainly wouldn't give up a prospect with the ceiling for Nino to get him. EDM has been trying to deal Hemsky for years, yet nobody takes him. I wonder why...

Over the next 3 years... we will have a lot of great (or really good defencemen)

I think as long as we have a good mix of offensive type defencemen and stay @ home type... we will be fine.

I really don't see a star defenceman in the next few year's for the Isles!!!

I personally think we will be trading our pick!!!

I beg to differ. I bet Reinhart becomes a top pair guy. he's got the skills and tools to do it. He may never become a Norris winner, but he should be a legit #1 or #2 d-man. why did this type out in bold? Do you control not only your bold typing, but those who respond to you as well?

I stand corrected. Luongo is probably a bit more undesirable than Hemsky. I think I'd rather trade for Trevor Gillies or Mitch Fritz than Hemsky or Luongo.
