listen, i truly wish the best for you and hope that they find a cure for MS, i know a bunch of people who unfortunately also have MS but to pull that pity card is weak...

it was a joke, relax.

I swear a decade ago I barely knew MS even existed & now I have more then a handful of people in my life fighting it.

The funny thing is she usually doesn't even put in that much effort. 90% of her blogs are complete specualtion and Dee's idea of "speculation" which makes it even more absurd. Ex. Nino definitely being on the trading block bcs of Streit not resigning, WTF?

I want to hear what Islander fans think of these proposals.

Ryan miller for 15th and nino.

Ryan miller and a second for 15th, reinhart, and we buy out diepietro.

1st deal seems much more likely to me.

Miller doesn't work for the Isles. It doesn't make sense. The guy is 32 and a month from 33. He's only signed for one more year. We'd have to give up too much to get him.

The Isles aren't in their winning window right now. They're likely a couple of seasons away from being a true contender. By then, Miller could be gone or if he's still here, he'd be 35, and on the back nine of his career.

If the Isles are going to trade for a goaltender, they should trade for a guy in his mid to late 20's, a guy that can his his prime when this team hits its window to win, which will be in a couple of seasons (if things go right). Miller just isn't a fit for the Isles. I certainly wouldn't want to give up Nino AND #15 overall for him.

i disagree...considering they gave a REALLY good hockey team a run for their money this year, i can see them contending next year (depends on offseason/injuries) and if not next then DEFINITELY in 2 years...like legit contenders.

I love the way the team is shaping up, but to be honest, if Fleury wasn't as miserable as he was, the Isles may not have been in that series. They played hard, they played exciting. I love what KO, JT and the fourth line brought to the table. But when I say "contender" I mean a team that can legitimately come out of the East. I don't think that Adding Ryan Miller to the Isles next year gets them past teams like Boston or Pittsburgh. There are still holes to fill, notable on "D" and top line wing.

I think if you give this team two more years, they're a serious threat. Guys like Strome, Nino, Nelson, Lee, Reinhart, Mayfield, Pedan, etc. will all be NHL ready, coming into their own and supplementing the talent that's already here. They'll be right in their window to win. I think they're a playoff team again next year, but until that depth arrives, I can't call them a "contender".

There are so many different variables that will factor into them being actual contenders(goaltending, will donovan fill Streits role, will these kids be able to step in make an impact, can Snow get a top four, etc...) . I thought they looked great at times against Pitts but lets not forget they got shalacked two games also. I think they can compete but I don't know if they could keep up against the LA's , Chicago's, and Boston's of this league next season? That's who i consider "contenders". Maybe the following after we have a better understanding of what we're working with?

i agree about miller, i dont think he helps this team as much as a bernier or hiller can.

but i think everyone pretty much agrees that adding a goalie, top line winger and top 4 dman (and another year of development and strengthening their game) is whats missing from this team

The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to be the frontrunners in the Jonathan Bernier sweepstakes.
They might have even pushed the Philadelphia Flyers out of the bidding in the process. Meanwhile, Minnesota Wild, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, and Florida Panthers are being listed as other potential destinations for Bernier. If the Leafs get Bernier then he'll probably compete with James Reimer for the team's number one gig.

Agree for sure on this, its why Nino and I'd say a 2nd rounder would be worth doing for Bernier instead

Nino is being traded to Vancouver along with Strome for Luongo. Your grammar sucks, you should've put a period after the ending paranthesis.
