I'm not mad at Bryz. He's a good goalie, being paid like a great one. He's (reportedly) a distraction in the locker room, and as a fan I am often embarassed by the grade school arguments he gets into with our media. Shame on them both.
I dislike having a player on my team who is consistently laughed at on a national level. Just me I guess.
Take away the contract and his off ice antics and he's a good player.

If by good you mean above average, OK.

THIS is what you'rre taking away from one of the best Finals in the last 10 yrs?

- mayorofangrytown

If the Flyers aren't in the finals it's not at the top of my list.
And sometimes when they are chatting about the same crap for the last hour it amuses me to see past the jersey, number, and name to the actual player. They are people! C'mon mayor, we all know you look...

If you think the Flyers offering Couturier for Yandle was bad, the Canes blogger is saying he would offer Skinner for Yandle....

Love how so many people are predicting who we will take at our 11th pick this summer at the draft. You just KNOW Homer is itching to trade that pick away dont you guys?
- Buzzo

If he does, this is what his scouts are going to do to him:

C'mon, in whose universe can he be considered anything more than average the last two seasons? He's had a few sustained runs where he was good which I'm going to say was about two months aggregate and I think I'm being kind. I wish he was great.

i love giroux but what has he done to get 8 million??

that's nuts

- Don'tForgetTocchet

Agreed. He's a $6 to $7 million player. If G leads the team that brings the Cup back to Philly, then it's reasonable to talk about making him one of the top paid players in the league.

He's a 2-time all-star, no mean feat, but that's it, and that's not enough to put him in the $8mm range.

Pulock is such a high risk, high reward prospect though. Boom or bust through and through. I would consider him for sure but someone like Shinkaruk would be impossible for me to pass up.
- NickTheKid87

I don't consider Pulock that high of a risk. He's not THAT bad defensively and could get considerably better as he matures. His offensive game is the real deal.

He captained our team last season and is 4th in total points among all players in the NHL over the past 4 years.

I think barring surprises if pulock is there at 11 he'd be my pick.

So Ek's rumor chart doesn't have us very high in the Bernier running.
I'm beginning to think Bill was right and we are just being used as a stalking horse.

He would need to land some hardware or at least be in the conversation to get him in the 8-10 mil range. This past partial season didn't do his contract negotiation any favours. I thought he took a step back as far as his ability to take control of a game and that's something I expect of someone earning that type of coin.

but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and scoring and leadership and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what has Giroux done for us?

Do you think he's more or less of a risk than Zadarov? They seem to be fairly equal with opposing strengths. Zadarov on the backend hoping to add scoring and Polock scoring but needing to tighten up the D.

Only because of the new CBA rules that don't allow you to longtail deals (to lower the cap hit).
