Ya I get the thought for biggs, but you think we could have just hoped he would be there 3 spots later. Draft biggs at 25 if he is still there, which isnt unlikely. Draft saad with the 30th and gibson with the 39th. Bingo!

if only we could go back in time hell, if we could go back in time i would probably tell them to take jenner over gibson and harrington over percy

I think that Scuderi would do a great job, plus he'd play less minutes than Dion because you can sit him for the PP.

I too like Liles, but I think that the only place for him is the third pairing, and he's making waaaaay too much to be a 5/6 guy; we don't have to pay that much for someone to play there, we're not Vancouver

- lumlums

franson would be our 5/6 guy as well though, cause he would play with fraser again, which is obviously our 3rd pairing. franson will be asking for 4mil+ for sure

Haha exactly! no need to let them develop! They should be winning the calder next year. Physically immature? Dont give me that bullsh1t! do some pushups you wimp!
Haha too bad bozak likes being paid like a top 6 center by some sucker of a gm..

Serously though, i would love to see lindholm in 2 years centering a mixture of jvr, phil, lupes and whoever is that other winger, frattin maybe?

- pbrsimps

I like Monahan, but I think that Lindholm is the higher ceiling guy. I also love Nikushkin, but he would not likely be there at 7...

I kind of like your thought of say franson, 21st and maybe scrivens for the 7th, though i would try to just make it franson and the pick. Franson right now is overvalued, and i like him but this is the time to trade him if we can.
With the 7th we can get a great center prospect, then let them DEVELOP

- pbrsimps

I disagree. Sorry. I dont see the point in moving up this draft.
I dont want to trade away Franson and/or Scrivens for a better prospect. We need roster players now. We're further along in our rebuild than trading assets for picks.
This is a deep draft, I wont deny, and getting a centermen would be nice, but the problem is we need a #1 center now. Not 3-4 years.
Franson is a good piece of our D corps. Id rather get Gunnar out for something.
Thats just me though.

Nonnis will just throw down Subbans 2 year/5.75m contract and tell Franson to sign. That should be the basis of comparison, not Voynov etc

Ok, i just think he has deteriated a bit. He averaged 21:47/ game this past season and you think that number would have to be a bit less with another year of milage. That included a touch above 3 min/game of SH minutes. He seems more like a second pairing guy with 1st pk minutes.
So heres the plan.. Trade franson + 21st + whatever sweetner for 7th. Draft monahan or lindholm. Sign scuderi. Play him with gardiner on second pairing, gunnar and dion on first, fraser and liles on third! Its brilliant i tell you!

Why do you want to trade Gardiner? He is our best d-man. Just watch him dominate next season.

If we could go back in time I'd never have traded for Toskala, then we could have traded the first and second back to St Louis (as San Jose did) and taken Couture. Couture between Kes and JvR would be ridiculous

Seguin -3
- walshyleafsfan

Since when did the CBC become the Tyler Seguin Cheerleading Network?

They went out of their way to do a segment in the first intermission on how much he works out at the gym... just in case anyone was questioning him.

He's got to be the most hyped guy who has contributed the least on the ice. Maybe Jagr.

subban had 36 points in 81 games in his contract year, franson had 29 in 48. if you want to use that comparison, franson will be asking for 7 million lol voynov but similar numbers up this year so if anything he is a better comparison

Done. You can then play Dion less with a more responsible second line, and he always does better when he plays less than 25 mins

Nah take gibson, jenner still looks like a great 3rd line center, gibson looks more like a number 1. I couldve told harri over percy at the time, but that may have also been my knights bias talking lol

i would go back even further, and not trade for raycroft, and we would have rask in net right now.

Do you think Scuderi can handle top line minutes? I dont. Think Gunnar could do a better job when healthy. Also, unless we need the cap space, id rather keep liles and play him with fraser on the third pairing. Gives us one guy who can actually skate on that pairing. Besides, Liles isnt all that bad, hopefully he can bounce back to pre concussion days
- pbrsimps

Even if Scuderi didn't play on the top pairing, he still gives us a good second pairing. That helps take some of the load off that top unit.

And I agree about being inclined to give Liles another year of all the buy-out candidates.

i think jenner will workout to be a solid 2nd line center. his size and all around game and grit would easily make him a good #2 guy. with harri, it was prob the knights bias lol but imagine if london made it to the mem cup and burke watched both percy and harri play, maybe he would have taken harri

Ya, that why i would like to see him on the second pairing with gardiner, mentor him like he did with doughty

Hmm ya, nothing is set in stone yet. Really hard to distinguish a prospect from being a great third line center to a solid 2 way 2nd line center. Just depends if he can score enough.

That another question, where does rielly fit in? I'm fine though with letting him develop. Another year in junior than one in the AHL. No need to rush him
