Great two way top line center though

I think what Edmonton needs on D is a guy who can take 20-25 mins a night, and keep things steady in their own zone. I could see them sending an offer out to both Scuderi and Douglas Murray.

I would send biggs for sure. also hes probably more needed for them compared to percy. they don't really have any big forwards who can play in the top 6 (not sure if biggs can play there, but he may one day) whereas they already have schultz, petry, klefbom and marincin.

Ya they need d now, they have enough d prospects. lol Biggs, what a stupid trade. I remember thinking it was dumb when we did it. We traded up even though that year there was much difference between 20 and 50. We ended up trading rackell and john gibson for biggs. Rakell will probably be better than biggs anyhow, and gibson is one of the best goaltending prospects in the game. Saad was still availiable with both those picks as he fell for whatever reason.

see, i think this is the best we will get out of franson. don't get me wrong, i like him on the point in the offensive zone, with his half clapper, but in the defensive zone he isn't great at all. for a guy his size he should be laying the body more. we have the tendency to never sell high on our guys, franson is probably our best chance to sell high for something we got for so cheap.

Also, i said franson, 21st and something for 7th, something probably being an average prospect, possibly even frattin/scrivens

If he can use his size though he could be a beast. Give it time and a full pre-season from Carlyle and he should be good to go.

just a feeling. i cant see him putting up those numbers again. the only good thing about having him is that on our first pp unit we have basically 3 real threats: kessel, phaneuf and franson. JVR stands in front of the net, and bozak, well, bozak wins the faceoff and disappears

With the 7th we can get a great center prospect, then let them DEVELOP

lol thank you, i wanted him to be drafted with the pick we took percy, but since then i have seen percy play a handful of times and really like his game which made me less sad. but the whole biggs trade up situation was unnecessary. i get its what burke wanted, cause he wanted an answer for lucic, and saad wouldn't be that answer, though saad plays a similar game, but haven't seen him fight, where biggs won't back down from a fight.

Do you think Scuderi can handle top line minutes? I dont. Think Gunnar could do a better job when healthy. Also, unless we need the cap space, id rather keep liles and play him with fraser on the third pairing. Gives us one guy who can actually skate on that pairing. Besides, Liles isnt all that bad, hopefully he can bounce back to pre concussion days

We can then sign Bozie to a contract appropriate with being a THIRD line centre.

yea, obviously start with the lowest possible offer and add if needed. at 7, we can still grab monahan or lindholm which would be awesome

Ya I get the thought for biggs, but you think we could have just hoped he would be there 3 spots later. Draft biggs at 25 if he is still there, which isnt unlikely. Draft saad with the 30th and gibson with the 39th. Bingo!

I think that Scuderi would do a great job, plus he'd play less minutes than Dion because you can sit him for the PP.

I too like Liles, but I think that the only place for him is the third pairing, and he's making waaaaay too much to be a 5/6 guy; we don't have to pay that much for someone to play there, we're not Vancouver
