Reimer+Grabo+2013 1st+Quality Prospect for Kopitar + Bernier

Goalies Id call a wash. Not sure if Grabo would be enough but that team is deep on center and it wouldnt hurt them too much. Im sure thats not enough for LA though.

+Grabos bad season hurts his value. Maybe make it a quality winger instead? Lupul?

Probably have to add Rielly or Gardiner or Frattin or Biggs

Bernier is an RFA you could offer sheet him

Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 - 2nd round pick
Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 - 1st round pick, 3rd

so the price can't be that high..I guess a 1st and 3rd is decent...but if it was say #21 and a 3rd...not bad

if we offer sheet its our pick next year, free agency happens after the draft

He was jittery the entire playoffs.

How many times did you see him bobble and/or completely lose the puck off a simple glove-hand save?

- jnwood2517

I love that we can talk about facing an average of 39 shots per game while posting a .923 sv% as "simple".

Carry on.

yes I know...just an example if we finished similar...the 21st pick is a longshot to be an impact player.

I want to keep Reimer..I am not against adding Bernier as insurance...and whoever can preform we go with. But Reimer has shown me he can handle the job fine.

low cost veteran free agent like Evgeni Nabokov, Ray Emery or Jose Theodore, who would be willing to serve as a mentor/backup to Reimer

Emery and mentor do not belong in the same sentence.

I have no problem with depth, but it seems that goaltending is one of those positions where the players have to be mentally prepared more so than any other.

It's very rare to see a 1A/1B thing work out. Even if it does, it maybe lasts a couple seasons tops.

Unless I were getting Bernier for junk, I wouldn't want to invite controversy.

If Sakic isn't bluffing, and Avs pass on Jones, and take Makinnon, they have an over flow of Centerman (must be tough). I'd love ROR (but they can't trade him till after Christmas, Stastny will likley be available. Its the name that won't go away, but he would be an upgrade over what we have. Will probably take a D to get him. And no, not Gardiner!!

We have belov signed also so lets hope he turns out but of course I'd like gardiner or frattin to be an oiler but anyone who mentions hall eberle nuge or yaks or jshultz in that trade is crazy gags is possible if the oil draft a centerman and also pick up a decent third line centre somewhere else but besides that I can't see a deal getting done.

Done. I'm actually surprised that nothing really seems to be moving on that front.

Either the Avs want too much (given Stastny's contract, I think they'd be eager to move him)

...or Nonis doesn't have much interest, which would make me sad if he's genuinely more interested in Weiss.

I don't know about the so called lack of athleticism, that toe save on Bergeron in the playoffs looked pretty athletic to me.

I am more concerned with his rebound control and whether he has the mental make up. He was jittery in Game 7 when Boston got rolling when we needed the guy to be calm.

- Rang

Check again.... Bergeron had a ton of room to put that in even along the ice.... Reimer's lateral movement is no where near that of goalies like Quick, Rask etc.

I agree.. I dont believe anything said about who is drafting who.

its a good idea if they actually do want Jones and can gain an asset to move down to 2nd and get him anyways

If they bring in Mackinnon, Stastny will have to be traded. By next trade deadline for sure; probably sooner. Does our first do it? Would we have to add Blacker/Finn/Percy? Surely Nonis prefers Stastny over Weiss. At least I hope he does....

The only reason he would be interested in Weiss more is because he would'nt have to give up assests unless he trades for neg rights which would be minimal. Stastny is the perfect fit IMO, considering we have to build to compete with the Bruins. I know some guys prefer Grabo to Bozak, but Bozie can win draws (and we didn't have him game 7), so can Stastny, and Grabo can't. That's a better match up to goa against Bergeron and Kreicji

tough to say, maybe Bergeron thought it was a tap in and never expected Reimer to make a save like that.

I have heard "experts" explain that positioning is whats important, and if you are making a lot of those types of saves you are out of position more often than you should be, maybe Reimer is better in that regard.

I am not a goalie expert so who knows

tell me hes got no athleticism after watching that

- matt1337

he obviously has athleticism or he would not be in the NHL. He is slow side to side..... Other goalies make some of those saves seem routine because they can get their entire body in front of them. I am not rippin on Reimer he has shown the ability to be a good goalie. he is very good positionally...... I am saying I think he lacks the natural elite athleticism to make him a top 5 goalie in the NHL maybe a top 10.

I thought so too, but Sakic doesn't strike me as a bluffer, and Roy watched Makinnin and Drouin all year, and he has imput. Sakic might have said what he did so they wern't lambasted at the draft, and they can begin putting out fires now
