So the Avalanche need a rapidly-aging healthy scratch, who hasn't been the same since a concussion, with a disproportionately large cap hit?
If that's the case, wouldn't including Komi make the deal twice as good? - Atomic Wedgie
You make it seem like he's complete poop when he is well known with the avs and had his best seasons with them. It would be some salary heading back to them to balance the deal, since the avs defense is utter crap |

Meh. He's overrated. |

Thankfully no student loans
She worked during her undergrad (plus her parents paid tuition), then did a 16 month internship to get cash/experience and I worked in Fort Mac for just over a year to get rid of student loas/pay for the wedding/house deposit. I also get paid for teaching while I'm finishing up the PhD, so no loans here either. Basically, once you add in a good salary from my side, man we could even afford to live in Vancouver!
Hopefully that will be the point that we move back to Awesometario - lumlums
Wow, high 5 to you guys. I worked on an engineering degree before I switched to the trades. Hated it, but it left me a couple years of loans to pay off. Good thing about trade school is being able to work while getting your education. So loans got paid pretty quick. We are definitely still paying hers off though.
Carpenters get paid crap if you're not working independent to. About as much as a drywaller, figure that one out? I had my tickets for about a year before I started my own business. We'd be in debt up to our ears if I didn't. |

I'd like to trade him. I'm sure Feaster would take him - lumlums

I love it when the homeowner makes changes. The wife works for my company, so any changes are billed hourly. Her time, and the time for the staff to make the changes. While its all scripted and contracted, usually people get pretty picky after the first few changes when they see the bill. I can bill a cadd person at about 125 an hour for additional work. And she makes the crew look cheap. - joel878
I constantly joke with my builder: if it was up to me, I would have written him 5 post-dated cheques, and he would have phoned me when everything was done.
I don't build homes. I trust his opinion a heck of a lot more than mine. |

hahaha neat trick!
yeah, i did this for free tho.. being my old man's house n all. wanted him to have the place they wanted ya know?
and it got me a couple BBQs and a case of beer.. works for me - Dozzer
Yeah I definitely do the same for family. You'd be surprised how many great aunts and cousins twice removed that think their kitchen is going to be reno'd for beer, or trades on oil changes. It's hilarious.
In my next life, I will be born a rich kid. I've earned it. |

Yes, definitely. I've been in Alberta for about 10 years. Have been offered plenty of work up north around 50/hr. The mrs had a girl when we were 20 though, so I've never really been open to being away for stretches. Always liked being home more than money.
If I didn't, I would have been a welder. 150/hr up north, and I hear you can find those journeyman tickets in cereal boxes. |

The Avs were more than happy to trade him for a second pick, and that was two summers ago. Since then, he's regressed in every way, shape and form.
He was a healthy scratch in 3 of the 7 Leafs playoff games this year. In the games he was in, he averaged 15:25 in ice time.
His regular season numbers are just as bad. Low ice time. Stints in the press box. 2 goals and 9 assists in 32 games.
And he has 3 years left with a cap hit of almost $4 million a year.
I don't make it seem like he's utter crap.
That's what he is.
Sorry, Leafs Nation. |

Hammer, meet nail.
It is what it is. No ones blue line is bad enough that they are desperate to pay liles another 9 million to warm benches and make coffee runs in the pressbox. This one is even worse than the lecavalier rumour.

hey dozzer....
got a technical question for ya.
we're doing work on a building from the 1800's. so the archival drawings are paper copy only.
i've scanned them and have them in autocad as raster images and made notes on them. saved pdf's for customer
but now the customer wants the autocad file. and obviously a raster image won't work on his computer.
any idea how i can get the picture in there as an object? i've tried insertobj but doesnt' seem to be working |

Yeah, for sure! Are you based in Edmonton then?
My wife also refused to work up north; with her dual engineering/business degree she would have been able to write her own ticket. Instead we'll move back to Ontario, then she'll do her MBA and we'll spend the next 30 years throwing paper planes made out of hundies at each other |

The year he had that concussion, was the year he was doing really well and probably would of had another good career year. 27 pts in 66 games is not that bad when he would of got more if he didn't get concussed.
So technically with the half season we have had, that was his worst season yet. So technically, 1 bad season he has had thus far in a half stint. Grabo had a poop season, so i guess lets just write him off too
