Alright feel free to tell me I'm out to lunch one way or another. Ganger and 7th pick for Gardiner and 21st. Am I crazy in thinking that is pretty fair?
- wendel13

yes it's fair....to a degree....but Gard is more valuable than Gag...so it's a matter of the picks and which player they want to draft...prob not a huge diff in this draft between 7th and 21st considering the depth/talent this year...and it also boils down to the scouts and their talent level....you know?...theoretically 7th is better obviously....but is it worth gardiner? gagner means nothing in the scope of things imo

imagine no autocadd and doing everything on velom with tsquares and mech pencil
- JIMI-JAMES

dont have to.. i remember drafting class in college.

man oh man that sucked.

many schools still insist on a couple semesters of hand drafting because you better understand the work you will eventually be doing

the good ol staedler mechanical pencil.. how do i loathe it

He moved plenty, and doing the splits like that is extremely athletic.

How'd Bergeron miss the shot? He got it off and hit the net.

- burn

Watch the play again, he posts his power leg, pushes but doesn't move and drops into the splits. All that work he did and he didn't move his lead toe an inch (unless I'm thinking of a different play) Bergeron had half the net open and hit Reimers foot. In the industry we call that poop luck.

I don't see being flexible as being athletic, Athleticism to me is foot speed and lateral movement/recovery. In those aspects Reimer has made strides to improve but he is still much closer to a lumbering Giggy than an active Quick.

when I was still in school and I considered doing my masters I thought - (frank) that. NOW, you almost need a masters to be ahead of the millions of BA's etc out there
- Colin Dambrauskas

In my field you really need the PhD if you want to have any control over what you research. With a masters you're just gonna be another person in the lab, with a PhD you can actually hit management level

holy (frank).. really? why?

if i was an employer i would say learn cad or go elsewhere.. hand drafting is just a waste of time now. i am sure the employer would prefer the salary he is doling out to be used more effectively.

he is the employer... he's a builder, custom projects.

its crazy, i can't even begin to imagine how much time he must spend on them. Add in some revisions here and there and it must be a nightmare.

I have a few years on you so autocadd was brand new when I was in high school..hell it wasn't even in the colleges at that point...so I loved the old way...hated mechanical drafting but absolutley loved architectural drafting...I won the senior drafting award when I graduated....7 years later I went to college and had to take 2 Autocadd courses and found them boring as hell...prob because i was trained the old way and because it wasn't architectural, it was civil engineering ie: road/sewer design....i just found that autocadd took the fun/art out of drafting....just my opinion...i know other people feel the opposite

hey if you like staring at lines for hundreds of hours and moving the pencil so slowly while you spin it in your fingers to keep the lead from dulling on one side by all means

the nights where i had hand drafting work to do were usually the nights i got fairly drunk
