I'm not too sure why people think he's available. The first thing Pittsburgh is going to try to do is get him some help - probably a high-end stay-at-home type.

Letang isn't a great defender in his own end, but removing him doesn't help them, either.

- Leeman4Gilmour

so Pittsburgh is going to spend big on a partner for Letang, then give Letang $7 million per year? it's about $$$. Pittsburgh doesn't have the luxury of spending $7 million on Letang, but they have plenty of defensive prospects coming through their farm system/junior. even Pierre Lebrun said it's more likely that he's traded this offseason than signed. Shero proved last year that he won't let a major asset walk for nothing.

I don't know about the so called lack of athleticism, that toe save on Bergeron in the playoffs looked pretty athletic to me.

I am more concerned with his rebound control and whether he has the mental make up. He was jittery in Game 7 when Boston got rolling when we needed the guy to be calm.

- Rang

Lol he didn't move at all on that save, he did the splits and Bergeron missed the shot.

He moved plenty, and doing the splits like that is extremely athletic.

How'd Bergeron miss the shot? He got it off and hit the net.

Do the Leafs want/need Gagner though? However, the 7th pick would be great!

The more I watch the playoffs, the more I think you only need one elite puck mover. Letting, Keith, niedermeyer, etc. if you think Rielly will be that guy, I make the trade. Gagner certainly has more skill than Bozak and I still think has potential to be ppg.
