My only issue and I said this at the time of the trade is he is a 2nd line center. Nothing more, nothing less.

But we are prob gonna pick top3 the next two seasons, we can draft our "stars" then
We have a unique opportunity with this draft
It's not only the deepest in a decade,
But we have the ability to possibly acquire even more picks

Teams that win the cup also have depth
And it's actually setting up kind of perfectly to acquire quite a bit of it this year

That is tempting but I think I would rather them take the best forward they can get at nine and sign a goalie or trade for bernier if needed. I think I would rather go for Vanek for the 9th then Miller but either way I am hoping someone sneaks down to us because a few gms screw up lol If I where you guys I would be offering Miller to SJ for Marleau

I like the idea of drafting Euros(with no CHL ties) and trying to convince them to come over and play in the AHL right away.

Also allows said players to play 2 years in the AHL(18-20) and have the entry level slide(like Girgensons)

As long as he plays no NHL games, his 3 yr deal essentially becomes a 5yr deal. This is why we will not see him up here next year unless he makes the team out of camp.

He has stated he will play out is contract and on top of that keep playing so long as it is still fun so I think he is willing to play 40 games next season or whatever he can manage as starter if he can even call it that if he gets hurt and plays less then sign to play as backup/ mentor to a younger number 1 he as alimony to pay lol he will stick around for at least 2 more years and that is the same reason why he tested free agency last year

Only way that happens is if a team trades with Carolina or the Staal rumors are true and that is who the Rags want. They work out the details later.
