In any event, if Buffalo selects Nurse, I will have a conniption fit. We don't need a D man in the top 10 when it's this stacked with offense. Trading someone like Miller and a 2nd/3rd to Philly for #11 would be nice. Then, selecting Lindholm at 8, Ristolainen/Shinkaruk at 11, and a Wennberg/Erne (gamble) / Mantha at 16 would make for an incredible draft IMO.

Wasn't there a rumor at the time that the Sabres were only going to sign one of Drury or Briere and that they found out Briere had a medical condition that made them lean toward Drury as the one to sign? I remembe reading that more then once.

If Philly buys out Bryz, they'll need a goaltender WAY more than another scorer. Plus, getting rid of Coburn (big part of deal) would be an idiotic move. He's one of their main guys on their blueline. I'm sure they don't trust guys like Bourdon/Gustafsson to carry the load.

The only way I'd accept that trade would be if we used that 1st to move up, and Brouwer had another complete fluke of a season like this year, only for us.
