ugh i must have missed that this postseason - stayinthefnnet
Well not really. The problem is Shero traded for him thinking he still had it. Happens all the time when looking for that final piece. |

Must need a break from the over abundance of teenage Edmonton Poontang in the summer. Guys gotta train I guess. - Jeropotato
Yeah because there is none of that in Calgary........
My guess is you've never been to the Stampede? |

Ok, I might have read it wrong.Goaltending ids really the only factor in Sv%, where as total team defence has a greater impact on GA. You can have an excellent sv% and a poop GAA. - Jeropotato
There's still a general correlation between high SV% and low GAA. Boston was top five in both. They were 13th in shots against at evens. |

Further more to Chara is their forwards aren't complete (frank)ing turnover machines and know how to backcheck properly and where to be. - Lahey
Absolutely. Look at the bottom 6 forwards of every SCC of the past 15 years and show me a weak group. One thing for sure,Mac T understands this. |

Sure can't pay him for playoff points, I would hope the Oilers have learned that. Bickell would be a nice addition at the right price though. - doon
Personally I rather pay him 3.5mil then horc and hemmer their salaries. Not the best way to spend money, but I don't know what the other options are. Morrow? Nope. Clarkson? He's just as streaking. Horton? 5x5 and concussion issues say no. |

would you guys trade ur 1st and a prospect or player for fleury?
you have enough fire power on O just need grinders, your D is improving, but your goalies are horrible... you don't need another top 10 pick... do u? - nh4442
Why would you want to trade him if he's such a good goalie?

Of course there is, but SV% doesn't account for weak shots/scoring chances. 20 blue line floaters ala Ryan Smyth pad the stat. |

With the Oilers luck they will sign him and he will get colitis. |

There are cheap trade targets. Kulemin from TO. Not the greatest, but could probably do the job reducing goals against when Gags and Yak are on the ice . Good enough skater, just enough offensive capability. |

I can't see the Isles & Oilers making a deal. They kind of both need the same thing. Plus its time you drop the Nino wants out routine. Its the furthest thing from the truth. His agent opened his mouth before the start of the season Snow sat down with Nino everything is fine and they moved on I suggest you do the same |

He's a rock star in Edmonton. More of a B lister in Calgary was my assumption. Then again it's Canada and he's an NHL player. |

I just don't know how cheap he'll come to be honest. I would target him though. |

I agree. I am all for an offer sheet on a couple of young dmen out their. Piets would be top of the list though. I say 5 mil for 8 years. Cost us a first and a third. Think he is worth more? - bsteinley
Not a chance in hell Pietrangelo signs an offer sheet for 5 million a year. The other day you wanted to offer sheet Jake Muzzin for 5 million a year. Do you honestly put those 2 in the same boat. Maybe if you reverse the years and dollars. 5 years @ 8 million might get it done. |

i dont think he will, or should, write his name next to anything that doesnt start at least with a 7. |

Why all the Calgary name-calling? With their 3 1st rounders and that prospect, they have every chance of leaving the Oilers in the dust. Edmonton just collects top picks like hockey cards and does nothing to build an actual team. - allycat
we're gonna be left in the dust because of some prospect knowbody had heard of before last week, a 6th overall, and the 22nd , and 28th overall picks. |

I always thought Denis Grebeshkov was going to be a stud. I remember being pissed when the Isles traded him to you guys. I thought it would come back to haunt the Isles |

List some of the trades where the Isles got schooled? I'm being serious I really can't remember any. |

He had a pretty good year in the 2008 or so. Had to be with a defensive minded guy though. But he was able to move the puck and skated well.
The era of 4 pretty darn good offensive d-men, but not one that was that great at defense. Never did find a way to keep 3 of Gilbert, Souray, Grebs and Lubo while dealing one for another defensive stud. |
