Vanek for Stastny straight up?

so what if tthey pick Mackinnon and trade Duchene for that 2nd overall? could that work? they get em both

Duchene was very good for them this past year.. and he even gave them a decent bridge contract and didn't demand the world like ROR did... I think they need to keep Duchene.

I could be wrong but its only a couple years in age difference? 27&29 I believe. I would be all in if PS was 23, I would love to upgrade the C position.

I guess I could get on board but he has a 6+ mil cap hit and he will be a UFA next season. Kinda getting into the same boat as we are with Vanek. I would feel more comfortable trading them Miller for PS + a little.

IMO Hodgson and Ennis are just as good and younger than Stastny. We'd be moving a first line winger for a 2nd or 3rd line center

hhmm true enough it'd be tough to trade him at this point but the risk vs reward this might be the only time it could be worth it, but you're right its a stretch

I dont want Stastny. Seriously...useless. If we lose Vanek and Miller and acquire Stastny and dont move up with any of these trades I think I will step down as a fan for the first time ever. I cant stand Stastny...

No point whatsoever in adding Statsny at this point. He's got 1 year left, unless we plan on making a run next season in which case you don't trade Vanek anyways

Vanek is a game changer. It's only for a handful of games at a time but Statsny is a serious downgrade from Vanek. We lose that trade big time even if both had long term deals

Stastny has no NTC/NMC.

Vanek+ for Stastny+ as a framework of a deal make sense. It isn't ideal but it does make sense.


It also gives you the best center available come the trade deadline to gain more future assets.
