if drouin falls i am pushing hard to get him. trade him immediately. but i dont see that happening. #5 is guarntee of barkov, drouin or nichushkin..would be nice to go out and make the pick instead of hoping though....

If we trade Vanek (we will), we need someone like him
Read isn't that type, and I doubt they'd move him Couturier...
Hartnell would fit that mold,
But he's 31 and Simmonds is only 24, so he fits much better into our "rebuild"

Depends on what you have to give up. In all seriousness I think our best move would be to move up from 16 to the top 10. Give us two top 10 picks then trade back in around 20. We have the pieces (Vanek, Miller, second round picks) to make it happen. If we could get 3 of the top 20 prospects in a draft class like this and if even only 2 of them pan out we would have a successful draft

I would take ristolainen before nurse but that's just me .

or carolina could take Nichushkin...or trade out to a team that wants to take him. Also the Lightning are really big on Nichushkin as well.

Terry Jones twitter (I assume if the oilers fans are gunna take him seriously then he's gotta have some sort of credibility). Like I said before I'd put my money on that 7th pick being moved, it's just so inconvenient for the Oilers.

Me too,
I love Ristolainen.
I think he's the most NHL-ready defenseman in the draft
He doesn't have the offensive upside of Nurse or Jones, but he's more solid defensively...
He's just nasty to play against and does a good job clearing the crease

As it stands now,
Lindholm at 8, and Ristolainen at 16 would be amazing

I do think we end up with more 1st round picks though

And I'm beginning to really like the idea of moving up to #4
Barkov, at 17, scored as much as Granlund did as a 20yr old
And he's already up to 210lbs
Kid is gonna be a beast
