Myers, in my opinion, is too risky of an option to not at least consider trading. If he has one more poopty year he is virtually untradeable with his contract. - Pierceme69
That is why we have compliance buyouts.
I do not want to trade him and give up and watch his blow up and prosper on another team that actually know how to use him the right way...
I am hoping ot god that Rolston hires a good Defensive coach that can pair him with the right guy and allow Myers to play offense... that is what made him a 1st round pick.. |

I don't care if he does well somewhere else. It doesn't mean he would have done well here. We're talking about trading a 23-year-old with potential for a 26-year-old who has four 30 goal seasons already. |

He's proven he can be a solid defender as well. Just needs to do it consistently. He will be fine |

it probably could... but Darcy turned down trading Getzlaf for Myers... why would we trade Myers for Ryan now?
Myers............ we really shouldn't opne this window for discussion today... we just should not trade Myers... it is wayyyyy too early to give up on a 22 year old with his line of potential. - JVince11
I agree... a potentially great/franchise D-man is more valuable than a star forward. Darcy's problem is that he's seldom in his career made high-risk trade attempts to bring in superstar talent. Typically, he's played the seller and has gotten decent returns for the most part. IMO and at this point, I'd like to see him grow a sack and take a gamble. Firesale...everyone's game . |

According to some Duck's fans is that his numbers significantly dropped this season when he was permanently off of the line with Ryan and Perry. They said that he just floated a lot and couldn't stay productive. Also said that he was nearly invisible in the playoffs.
I like the kid and I would love to have him.. but at 5.1M for only 2 seasons.. when I am almost positive he wouldn't resign at this time... I would rather keep the young Myers and hope he turns that corner now that he is done putting weight on. |

Vanek for Ryan and their first (26th).
We could have 3 1sts and 2 2nd rounders then.
It would be to trade up really. |

If it's not just a smokescreen by the Colorado brass, Jones could conceivably fall as far as Carolina's pick. I would trade Myers for Ryan straight up, move up into Carolina's spot somehow and draft Seth Jones at #5. Then take a forward at #16. |

Philly has more to offer. We have a lot of players with potential, but not yet proven (see Myers and Grigs) |

Boston needs to shed money not gain money
Plus they laugh and hang up. He was 2nd on their team in points this year. |

That's what I said to him in the Ducks blog. Vanek isn't much better if at all than Ryan. Definitely not able to fetch the 1st. |

They would never do Vanek for Ryan, let alone adding in their 1st. |

what do you mean? give away a .77 PPG guy and a first for a .85PPG guy with a larger contract? Seems reasonable. |

would love it but BOS won't and I don't blame them. Maybe a coffee for Stafford...but then again, isn't Stafford a UFA come July 1st? |

I agree Ryan is younger and cheaper |

Heard the Flyers are in the lead to get him. Not surprising. I think we have a lesser chance getting him this time around, due to the fact he grew up near Philly, and the Flyers are in a better position to chase a cup before the Sabres do. I'm not saying the Flyers are in the greatest shape as a team, which they are not, but to a star player, Philly seems to be the more attractive place to play. - GzaGenius36
I don't think anyone pointed this out so I figured I would.. he has no say in where he gets traded.. |

Again Anaheim needs to shed money not gain. No way Vanek resigns there after next season.
Doesn't make any sense at All. |
